Naagin Season 2/Prema Dadayama Season 2 overall Review

9:24 PM 0 Comments

Howdy guysJ I am back with a bit of frustration: P. Lol. So let’s get this straight...I ain’t an Indian drama fan in fact I ain’t a fan of anything to do with Indian dramas. I totally believe their dramas are way too draggy and have way too much “drama” (lol...no pun intendedJ ). However I do have to admit that they are good if you totally don’t have anything else to watch and I still haven’t reached that stage in life yet. I know I sound pretty harsh but then the truth is harsh right? Anyways many Sri Lankans (mostly jobless housewives) are head over heels in love with Indian soap operas but in recent years it has become quite clear, that most prefer Sri Lankan dramas over these soap operas. The pinnacle of Indian soap opera culture in Sri Lanka started off with Maha Gedara and Praveen and hit its climax with YHM or Me Adarayai. However as many of you see this trend is actually dying.  More and more people are drawn to Sri Lankan dramas such as Sidu, Dewani Inima and Hara Kotiya etc which are 100% more realistic and entertaining than any Indian drama. However Naagin Season 1 or Prema Dadayama, as many of you know it was quite a different story.

It was the first time in quite some time that Sri Lankans were able to see some “revenge” drama unfolding in front of their screens. If I remember right the last time that a revenge drama went on air was when Hiru TV showed EK Hasina Thi the Indian version of the English series Revenge. I have to admit that I quite liked Ek Hasina Thi better than RevengeJ.  We all did love Naagin 1. It was a pretty good drama and more than the plot line I loved the chemistry between Shivanya and Rithik. Actually I bothered to actually watch Naagin simply because I have a big crush on Arjun Bijlani (Rithik- he is so cuteJ ). Anyways, with the huge commercial success of Naagin, Sirasa TV went on to bring Naagin season 2 which followed the story of Shivangi (Shivanya’s daughter) and her revenge story. So this is going to be the review of the latter drama.

Season 1 couple

First of all, Rithik is killed off in the first few episodes of Season 2 and I pretty much lost interest in the drama (just kiddingJ ). Shivanya is left in the world full of cruel people with her one and only daughter Shivangi. It turns out Shivangi is not a Naagin but then the story develops further and Shivanya is killed by Yamini (who is brought back to life btw – typical Indian drama) and her minions. Shivangi gets her Naagin powers to take revenge from everyone who killed her mother. On the way she meets ultra cute Rudra who is a male shape shifting Naag. I have to admit I rooted more for Rudra and Shivangi to be together rather than Shivangi and Rocky. By the way, Rocky is the lover for Shivangi in Season 2. So what do I think of all this?

Rithik

Firstly, I totally do not see any chemistry between Shivangi and Rocky. Both of them just don’t match the way Rithik and Shivanya did. I loved the chemistry between Rithik and Shivanya and the truth is that their love made you crave for “that kinda love”.

They were so “real” in front of us and it made us forget that their love was just a drama. Actually one could even say that it is their chemistry which made Prema Dadayama a hit in Sri Lanka. However when it comes to Season 2 I really did not like the main lead. He is a nice guy but he just didn’t fill the role of a lover. Not only did he not look the part, even his character did not match the part. Half the time in the drama his whole purpose was to suspect that Shivangi and Rudra were in love. In reality Rudra and Shivangi had better chemistry that Shivangi and Rocky.

Rudra  more like rithik - so cute :)

After all Rudra was so steaming hot while Rocky did not seem as fun as Rithik. I personally feel Ekta (the producer) did not give much of a character to Rocky so making him so fake. I kind felt that Rudra was another Rithik while Rocky just seem to not fill those shoesL.

I also felt that plot wise Naagin 2 was just a duplicate of Naagin 1. There weren’t any twist and turns except the fact that Rocky was also a Naag and the stupid ending. It just seemed like they added a few extra players to the murder of Shivanya so to make it different from season1.  To add to this Rithik and Shivanya got a boon to live together by Lord Shiva but were only able to live together for less than a year, so this drama just is so stupid in a way.

The next issue I felt was that the characters were just too gaudy. There were shown as the “elite” of Indian society and they must have spent over a million only on Shivangi’s make up! I mean that woman had so much make up on that she looked soo fake! To add to this having Yamini there bathed in gold and gaudy jewelery just didn’t help much. These things were there in the first Season too but then Rithik was so down to earth and so “real” and so was Shivanya to some extent, plus their love story felt more real. Rocky just seemed like a puppet and even with the addition of a beard he just didn’t seem to fit in. In all those high intense romantic scenes between Rocky and Shivangi I just felt there was no intensity. With Rithik and Shivanya there was so much sexual tension that when they were together you just felt those vibes hitting you hard. In contrary Season 2 the intensity just fell flat and there were no such “vibes” to talk about.

Talk about sexual tension :P

To add to this, all things in Season 2 felt more unreal than it needed to be. The fact that Shesha could put all her Naagin powers into a pendent so to save herself from Shivangi was so unreal. I mean if that was possible in Season 1 then Shivanya could have survived many ordeals right? The whole fact was that Naagins found it hard to hide their power in Season 1 and now they give us a different story in Season 2. That is really not very consistent. Also the ending was just hilarious. It just seemed like a carbon copy of the scene in Bahubali Part 1. I mean there is no logic explanation why Rithik had to tell Rocky to kill off Shivangi. Why couldn’t she loose her power gradually? Why does she have to die in the end? Then what is the point of watching this drama in the first place? Also have you guys noticed that Rocky simply doesn’t go to work? As a matter of fact none of them go to work or outside their house, I have never heard of such a family. This is a major joke right?

The bad guys this time too :P

Also the writers seemed to be so lost sometimes. Some of the killing off scenes seems so dumb and so not creative. Also the fact that Rocky had sex with Shivangi just to make her loose her Naagin powers was just so unfeminist (I didn't watch that episode though). I mean that seemed to go by the ancient idea that a woman who lost her virginity is just nothing in front of society. It was just revenge sex and if a husband can fall that low then you just need to leave him. I mean in Rithik’s case even after finding Shivanya was a Naagin he didn’t go and have revenge sex just so to take her power away... that’s just so degrading.  To add to this the writers really had to kill off Rudra who was clearly having strong feelings towards Shivangi and that kind of brought about an anti climax and I felt that the writers could have done something more with Rudra’s character.

All in all I give this drama a 1 out of 5 in my drama scale simply because I saw nothing new in this drama. I haven’t actually watched the Sirasa TV edition much but I actually felt that the dubbing department had done a bad job with the voices especially Rocky’s and I didn’t quite like it. I have finished Naagin Season 2 which ended on the 25th of June in India.

Overall it was just a badly made copy of Season 1 and I recommend anyone who loved Season 1 to keep away from this season as it is just “horrible”. A season 3 is coming in November if I am not mistaken and I believe it would move on from the scene where Rithik tells Rocky to kill off Shivangi (which father wants his own child dead?). Maybe Shivangi returns to life to seek revenge from Rocky and his family for killing her or something...I mean the plot does not seem to have any potential at all. Ekta should have just ended it all in Season 1 on a high note. Season 2 just seemed like a half baked cake when compared to Season 1. I have to admit that it left a nasty after taste and I ain’t looking forward to Season 3 at all. Thanks for surviving through over 1500 words with me and I hope you come back for more reviews and don’t forget to keep tuned into Drama Queen for the latest entertainment news in Sri Lanka J J J J J. Love ya all:*

Thawa Durai Jeewithe (Swarnawahini) -1st review 2017

11:51 AM 0 Comments

Hello guysJ. I hope you like the new look and all because my friend did a good job with it. Is it better than the one before? I have to admit that I liked the former look better though. LolJ. So today’s review is on a new drama which hit the screens recently. It’s on Swarnawahini every week day at 8.00pm. This is a brand new drama and I am quite addicted to it. As you all know I am not always hooked to a drama, only a few dramas catch my eye and if I like it I will continue to watch it. Right now I can tell you guys that this drama is a good one to watch out for. So let’s get down to the review, shall we?

Anuhas

The story starts off with 4 couples and couple number 1 is Anuhas and Aparna. Both of them met in campus and that’s where their love bloomed. Aparna is a B.Comm student while Anuhas was in the medical faculty. Overall their love story had not much problems. Of course Anuhas’s mother is one of those Asian tiger moms who want to control every aspect of their child’s life. However, even with such a mom Anuhas had no problem convincing his family that Aparna is a really good girl and that she suits him well.

Aparna

Couple number 2 is Anuradha and Misha and they are the most interesting couple. If you have watched Sal Sapuna on Sirasa TV then you guys already know these two characters. They are the main love story couple as far as I know in Sal Sapuna. Anyway, these two were never in love, it was just a proposed marriage brought up by Misha’s granny.

Misha's family

The story goes that all the property in Misha’s family is in Misha’s name and this is because she is loved by her granny. Her family just seems to be treating her nicely because she has all the money and if she leaves then the family will be begging on the streets. To add to this Misha had another boyfriend while her proposal to Anuradha was confirmed. This guy was just after Misha’s money and in the end just releases some “totally” edited pictures of Misha to the public. This in turn results in Misha trying to commit suicide only to be rescued by Anuhas who is now a doctor.

This in turn results in Anuhas’s marriage being delayed as he was in the emergency room while he was supposed to be getting married. (This interpretation might be wrong as I did not watch the drama at this point with any interest:P)

Misha

However it is at this point that all the awesome stuff happens. It turns out that Misha can only survive if she gets the kind of love she has never got in her life. To this role of the “lover” falls Anuhas who is forced to do it because his best bud who is also a doctor is in love with Misha’s aunt and Misha is the only link for him to find out where this aunt is. So this literally causes fire bombs to go off all over the place. Aparna suddenly finds out that Anuhas’s mother is a bloody bitch who wants to take Aparna home just to make a servant out of her. She is forced not to go to work even after she gets a 1st class degree.

Aparna's sister

Aparna’s sister is the only woman who can stand up for Aparna while Anuhas is preoccupied with Misha. Little by little Anuhas gives more attention to Misha while ignoring Aparna. Aparna while being the sweet girl she is; is left to cry her heart out while Anuhas’s mom bullies her around. To add to this even Anuhas is controlling. He simply does not like Aparna going to a job nor pursuing higher studies and out of the blue Aparna is stuck in a cruel world where she cannot make her dead parent’s wishes come true because of her future husband.

Monsters in law - Anuhas's mom and dad

To add to this Anuradha (he is cute in a weird wayJ) is left feeling stranded by Misha because she is claiming that she is in love with Anuhas. Little by little we see Misha trying hard (while in hospital, mind you) to get close to Anuhas by replacing Aparna. To give and honest opinion I have to say that she is so bloody selfish. I mean just because she wants love doesn’t mean she can rob it from some innocent girl like Aparna right? I just plain hate Misha’s selfish desires. Anuradha on the other hand finds that he is the senior trainer for Aparna who has just joined the company he is working for. This pushes both theses stranded lovers together and I bloody love thatJ.

Anuradha

So as things are right now I have to say I love this drama. It has everything I want in a drama. I mean it’s not every day that you see love triangles and a great second lead right? I personally love the fact that Anuradha is pushed together with Aparna and I really think they make a wonderful couple. Both of them are good people with kind hearts and loads of dreams. I just feel that Anuhas is trying to force Aparna out of her dream so that she could simply be a housewife. His excuse is simply that working women don’t have time for family life. That’s the most patriarchal thing I have ever heard in a drama straight after everything Avantha says to Samalka in Dewani Inima. I just hope Anuhas gets stuck with Misha and Aparna and Anuradha end up together. If Aparna and Anuradha get together I will just continue to watch this drama till the endJ.

I support this couple <3

Overall I believe I will give this drama 3 out of 5 because there are a lot of areas to improve on. I mean first of all the writers should give some spunk to Aparna. As far as I see her sister is one strong feminist woman who can stand her ground while Aparna seems like a wimpy kid. She revolves her dreams around that of Anuhas and his mother’s. I also want to see more background information on Misha and Anuradha. Both these characters are yet not fully developed as there are many gaps in their “lives” to be filled. Also I like to see the love story between best bud and Misha’s aunt. I mean he seems like a really good guy and I am not sure whether he was dumped. Also dear writers give some more work to Anuhas! I mean, he is either at Misha’s or talking to his best bud at hospital. Doesn’t he have any more patients?  To add to that don’t make Aparna so dependent on Anuhas – it’s so annoying god dame it! So if all these areas are improved then this drama will most probably get 5 out of 5 from me. Let’s hope for the best. You guys can catch this drama on Swarnawahini at 8.00pm every week day and I totally recommend this drama to you guysJ. Kudos...lets meet again in another post:* and don’t forget to stay tuned to Drama Queen for the latest entertainment news in Sri LankaJ.

Dewani Inima overall review April 2017

9:23 AM 2 Comments
These 3 are awesome....so fuuny :)

Hello dearies J. I am back with a bloody BANG!!! I am sorry about my language but I am a bit high after drinking Mountain Dew and I know that might sound so bloody weird. But seriously I get high on coffee and loads of sugar and I act like a complete jackass J. So let us get to the bloody review, actually come to think of it my favourite word in this whole post is gonna be “bloody”J. Let’s get started shall we? J.

The girls need to switch :)

So to tell the bloody truth I am so bloody pleased with Dewani Inima right now. The plotline is epic and it keeps my poor soul entertained. The story itself is expending at a rapid speed and finally we are able to see the overall story line. So throughout this post I am hoping to put forward where exactly this drama will head towards this year. However I am not 100% sure whether I could keep this promise because I am pretty high and there is a high tendency for me to go off track with loads of fan girl comments or utter rubbishJ

That look :P "I so pity you look:P" They will become good friends..u will c:)

This month of course we did see Anuhus and Avantha’s rivalry go to a whole new level. I mean, at first they were just half brothers but now they are in love with the same girl (Samalka). This love issue of course wouldn’t just stop at rivalry; it might even lead to the death of one of these cute guys (no kidding). I personally don’t like Samalka and her strategy. Look, I know some of you guys are head over heels in love with her but she is Avantha’s girlfriend but is doing all the “talk” with Anuhus. I mean at least she should separate herself from Avantha. As we did see yesterday she is being physically abused by Avantha (don’t you guys tell me the way he pulled at her arm was “normal”) and yet she is so submissive and doesn’t even raise her voice. I do however like the love triangle between Dewnie, Samalka and Anuhus (Muwahhhhhahhhaaaahhaa: P)

However, in saying this I really do like to see Avantha find a cute gal who would help him settle down. I am a sucker for that kind of “girl change guy” situations. In fact my bestie’s love story was one such “situation”. The perfect person to so change Avantha I feel will Dewnie (I so hope I spelt it right). I mean, she is innocent and good as oppose to Avantha who is a playboy and is in the necessarily evil side. After all, I personally believe that people who have opposing personalities have more chemistry.

Yes, Yes, I do know that Dewnie is in love with Anuhus but why cry over spilt milk? If she cannot get one brother then choose the other, after all they are both drop dead gorgeous J ( I know that sounds really bad :P Just imagine me as a girlfriendJ). Anyhow I have to say that just maybe Avantha may get overly friendly with Dewnie just to take revenge from Anuhus but in the long run fall in love with herJ ( I know that I am romantic at heart and hope for too much :P).

Spoilers: :P (kinda)

you see why my mom didn't allow me to watch this :P

I also like to point out that the overall idea of Dewani Inima is not very “original”. Parts of the storyline are pretty much a copy of One Tree Hill which was a pretty famous America drama. However to be 100% truthful I like Dewani Inima better. One Tree Hill is similar but the overall feeling I have is that I could relate more to Dewani Inima.

Lucas and Peyton aka Anuhus and Samalka in Dewani Inima.

I have of course not watched One tree Hill fully and only noticed the similarity when a blog reader commented on it (Thank you Oshani J ). It was the kind of the show that my mom didn’t allow a nine year old to watch and I just watched sections of it because my brother had a crush on Sophie Bush ( though he never admitted it :P ). My advice to those people who have never watched One Tree Hill is don’t search it up now because you will be spoilt big time. Plus be warned that One Tree Hill had some weird plotlines and halfway through the season you find everyone is sleeping with everyone else. I hope Derana will not do this dumb thing too. The plot in that drama has some weird problems cropping up which are not at all logical and very realistic. If that kind of crap crops up in Dewani Inima then well I will give it up *trust me!*.

Nathan and Haley aka Avatha and Dewni

Overall this year I feel that Dewani Inima is doing a great job drawing in all the youth because I know loads of people who are watching this drama and these guys never watch “Sinhala tele dramas”. In saying this though, I have to point out that screen writers should put some strength into Udeni because the only thing she does is cry throughout the drama. I wish she becomes more independent, I know that the life of a single mother is not an easy one but come on! I mean half the time I feel she is still in love with that rascal Ravi and that’s not very feminist. When we actually think about it the female characters in this drama are 100% traditional and that’s not quite feminist as such. We have the tiger mom –Anjula, and then we have the typical “good” mom – Udeni and 2 bloody love sick teenagers. I like to see more spunk from the female characters.

So I think right now things are not that bad but I feel things will get really heated up in the near future. I hope Derana continues this great trend. I mean these recent years Derana has really gone out there and put forward good ideas which really became big hits.  Dewani Inima is another such example and I really hope Derana will not dish shit out by copying One Tree Hill (I mean it has some very unrealistic plotlines and sometimes get really draggy). I will of course try and rewatch One Tree Hill (actually watch 9 seasons) and put a compare and contrast post in the near future. I might be able to do it very soon but hey I ain’t giving you any promises. Till the next post then adieu J.

These two r epic:)

Deweni Inima (2nd Innings) on Tv Derana.

10:00 PM 2 Comments
A bit old but hey the caption is right...say no to Indian dramas :)

Hello guysJ. I am sorry again for not posting in a hell of a lot of time, but then I am stuck with my Second year at UOL and trust me it’s not easy. My life currently consists of only one thing and that is stress.  This year, I hope will be a great year for all of you and I do hope that I get through this year with flying colours ;if it’s not too much to ask just pray for a good 2017J. Today I am not here to blabber about my stressful life or how much I dislike commercial law but to give you guys a review/trailer review of TV Derana’s latest drama Deweni Inima. If you have not heard about it already just don’t be surprised because it still hasn’t started on TV. I saw a lot of potential in the trailer which is about 5 minutes and decided to voice my thoughts. This review is just my personal view of the drama and pictures used are ones on the internetJ. Let’s get started shall we?

This drama review is full of assumptions, mind you J .

Okay so this drama is strongly based on cricket and it just gives me goose bumps just watching it. After all I am a huge Sri Lanka cricket fan and I love the fact that Derana came up with the idea to finally put cricket in a drama; after all it is something in our blood. The drama itself is produced by Saranga Mendis and the script is by Saman Edirimuni and I have a feeling that is going to be a Sidu like hit if properly done.

Past –First Innings.

As Ravi

The drama seems to take the format of test match. A test match for those who don’t know has two innings. After the 1st innings another innings is played. It is in this 2nd innings that the real winner is uncovered. Sometimes in the 1st innings one team is really good and they seem to be winning but when the second innings comes sometimes they lose. The writers have used this cricket metaphor all over this drama. In the 1st innings aka the past we see that one side ( the necessary evil/ unfairness) wining but in the 2nd innings aka present we see the proper side ( justice/ fairness) finally reaching victory (I hope J). However this is just my idea of what this drama is about.

Himali Sayurangi as Anuhas's mother.

The story follows a national cricketer called Ravi (I hope I got the name right – played by Bimal Jayakodi) who starts a nice little love affair with a pretty girl who I assume is a music teacher (played by Himali Sayurangi). However with time we see this girl coming to Ravi’s house with a cute little baby boy and as we can all assume this little boy’s dad is Ravi. However being a real douchebag (and may other things I cannot tell to a civilized society) he just tells Himali that he will pay a monthly fee for the upbringing of the baby. With her whole life shattered Himali starts the challenging task of a single mother in the Sri Lankan society. At around the same time or at the time of the relationship with Himali it seems that Ravi got married and this wife (Anjula Rajapaksha)  of his also has a cute little baby. It is clearly shown that Anjula really hates Himali (for obvious reasons) and treats Himali’s child pretty badly. From the trailer itself we can see that Himali’s life was far from beautiful and that she had to go through lots of hardship to bring up her little baby.

Anjula Rajapaksha as Avantha's mother

Present: The Second Innings – most properly where the name of the drama came from.

Raveen Kanishka an Anuhas

At about this point we have a time leap and this is where the drama gets really nice. Both the little boys have grown up and both are playing cricket. Anjula’s son is called Avantha (Keshan Sashindra) and Himali’s son is Anuhas (Raveen Kanishka). Both of they are arch rivals and this is where the drama actually begins. The past would most probably be shown in the 1st week of the drama while the present will proceed from there on.

Keshan Sashindra as Avantha

I really love the fact that Tv Derana has brought in new actors to play the main roles. After all we all fell in love with Dilum Aiya in Sidu and he was a new actor. In the same way Keshan and Kanishka will probably become far more famous than they already are. These two guys are from 2 consecutiveTv Derana Dream Star seasons and while Keshan won the title Season 3, Kanishka became the 1st runner up in Season 4. Both these guys are really cute and that is a word we rarely use in describing Sri Lankan actors (most actors are handsome but not cute right?). Both these fellows are young, hot (rawrJ ) and worth the watch. The rivalry between them would be really intense.

Add caption

I have a feeling that maybe finally we will as Sri Lankan drama fans get a firsthand experience of the 2nd lead syndrome. The 2nd lead syndrome is where both the lead and the 2nd lead are extremely good and you sometimes don’t want either to win (Gu Jun Pyo and Ji Hoo situation in Boys over Flowers).

Right now I am really rooting for Kanishka because he seems to be the lead plus I always had a crush on him (which explains why I was glued to the TV when he was in Dream Star Season 4J). Putting aside my deep dark secret let’s get back to the review.

From what I see from the drama there are two main female leads. One of them is played by Shanudrie Priyasad and she plays the role of Avantha’s girlfriend (I assumed that). It seems like she doesn’t like Avantha but likes Anuhas instead. However Anuhas has girlfriend who looks very innocent ( I believe the actress is the girl won Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Earth) and he seems to really love her. However the fact that Shanudrie likes Anuhas really seems to get to that girl and she seemed to be taunted by it. Let’s just hope she doesn’t break up with him because she does have really good on screen chemistry with Kanishka from what I saw in the trailer. Raveen/Avantha seems to think that Anuhas/Kanishka is a real threat to his love life and there seems to be a rivalry there too.

Shanudrie Priyasad - Sooo pretty <3

So overall this drama has so much potential. I believe Derana has learnt a lot form Sidu’s rise to fame and decided to aim for the young adults when creating this drama. Unlike Wassane Premaya or Sal Sapuna (dramas which air at the 8.30 time slot) this drama is clearly different and is more concerned with the youth and their playfulness rather than the bigger issues out there. Other dramas in the 8.30 time slot in Sri Lanka are usually aimed at the older generation and are about politics, marriage, children etc however this story revolves around 19 -20years olds who like me have lots of other pressing youthful problems that revolve around love, parents, studies and careers. I think this drama is worth it and from the looks of the trailer I would rate it 4 out of 5 in my drama scale and I would say I might give it a 5 if the standard is equivalent to Sidu.

So guys I hope you liked this review and I seriously recommend this drama to you guys, after all it is not every day you could swoon over some really cute guys on Sri Lankan Tv J. This drama will be starting on the 6th of February 2017 at 8.25 on TV Derana and please do go on and watch it and stay tuned to another review on this drama after it premiers on the 6th of Feb. BTW Thank you Derana for this awesome Birthday gift – I think I am already in love with this drama and really hyped about itJ and as always stay tuned to Drama Queen for the latest Drama reviews in Sri Lanka.

Dilum and Theruni ( A love story ) - Sidu

2:50 AM 1 Comments

Well it has been sometime and I haven’t posted in awhile.  However I did some work on my University blog and therefore was a bit on the busy side. Plus I have problems with Commercial law...it’s so hard peopleL.  Since I missed you guys so much I just decided to post on a very “hot” topic these days. Well of course Sidu itself is a “hot” topic these days but the love story blooming in it is a separate “hot” topic altogether.  Yes you guys guessed it right. I am talking about the cute love story (kind of) between Dilum Aiya (played by Yash Mihiran) and Thenuri (played by Maneesha-Chanchala).  It’s getting better by the day and I just love it. Ahhh I am such a romance freak at heartJ. Please excuse me for my fan girl comments all over this post. So let’s get started shall we??????

The cute bicycle scene - lol the continuous bickering :)

Okay. So all this time that tiny, mean Heshan was posing as the potential “lover boy” in Sidu and I actually kind of liked it. I thought that he was really trying to make Thenuri fall in love with him because he really liked her. However it turned out that he was after her “green card”. In other words he was just a leech and just wanted to ride on Thenuri’s coat tails. His true intention was to get her to take him to England. After this destruction of all my romantic ideas about Thenuri and Heshan I really thought Sidu might not take a romantic turn.

Heshan on the left :)

However thanks to the ancient Greek gods of love – whoever they may be; sent me my guardian angel in the form of Dilum Aiya. He was always a lovable character and was also so upright and honest. He was thus the perfect Mr. Right aka my dream guyJ. If I remember right Dilum Aiya/ Yash Mihiran is the guy who won Sirasa Man Hunt in 2015. He is from Matara (My hometown) and was one batch behind my brother at his school St. Thomas College Matara. However all this doesn’t actually matter to me because no matter what, he is so freaking hot!! (Excuse my vivid fan girl descriptionsJ).

2015 Sirasa Man Hunt winner

Now Dilum is the son of the head master in the village and is fresh out of campus. He recently got a high end job as a website designer and is such a fine lad. Unlike Heshan I feel this guy has all the right qualities you want in a guy and the added advantage is he is so freaking cute ( fan girl swoonJ- excuse me again). He does show so much feeling for Thenuri/ Maneesha-Chanchala and right now I just want them to work out. He is always behind her and seems to be thinking a lot about her and I see that cupid has done his homework alright.( Dear Cupid I need a guy like that!!!)

However Cupid has totally forgotten his homework when it comes to Thenuri. She is just outright rude to Dilum (Awwww I am heartbroken over here people..L..). She shows so much “gas” (as Sri Lankan’s put it) when Dilum comes up to her and I just feel so sorry for Dilum.

Theruni :)

I have a feeling however that Sidu and podi Sadhu have a hidden agenda when it comes to this couple. Both these little fellows are allowing a relationship to bloom between Thenuri and Dilum Aiya by simply being childish. In recent times Thenuri’s hard outer shell is breaking and just this week she started talking to Dilum like normal human’s do. Hey! I see potential here. I seriously root for this couple!!!After all it is after so much time that I saw a really cute and romantic love story in a Sri Lankan drama especially after *Olu on Swarnawahini. If you guys haven’t watched Olu then it time you do because that was the most beautiful Sri Lankan drama I have ever watched, that is of course until I watched Sidu. I hope the people who are doing Sidu follow the example set by Olu and does a nice love story without all these copy cat scenes from Indian Soap Operas.

Right now I am not quite sure whether Thenuri and Dilum will be together but well if they aren’t then I am going to quit Sidu. After all we do need a nice cute love story for all the people in their 20’s who are watching Sidu right? I just hope the people behind Sidu will understand what the public want and put up a nice cute love story between Thenuri and Dilum instead of one between Thenuri and Heshan. If this love story does work out then of course Sidu will stay up as Sri Lanka’s best drama / Number 1 drama forever.

The 2 bad guys in Sidu right now

*****Pls take your time to vote on who you want to be the lover couple in Sidu...:) (Voting on the side bar).

*Olu was a legendary drama shown on Swarnawahini. It told of a story of a poor young schoolgirl (Olu – played by Manjula Kumari) who fell in love with her young English Teacher (played by Suraj Mapa). Their love story goes through many obstacles but in the end they succeed. I myself watched this drama at least 4 times. I might do a review on it later. This drama was so popular in Sri Lanka those days that everyone knew Olu.
