Dedunnai Adare unfolds on TV Derana.

The latest sensation, the latest hit and the latest technology. This one of a kind drama started on TV Derana last week and is pretty much an instant hit. This drama has quite an engaging, great music and a new cast. The plot itself revolves around a simple middle class family with 2 daughters and a small son. They have a nice house and everything is simply fabulous. The family consists of the mother, brother, Akka and Ishi the younger sister. The older sister is a lecturer and has a boyfriend called Kavinga. Her constant trips to the campus are taken in her neighbor’s Volkswagen (some 18 shree thing). This kind neighbor is madly in love with this girl but is unable to tell it to her.  He has this set of big spectacles and a professor’s looks but a really nice voice (I think he dubs Mihir on Me Adarayai). He might not have good looks but he does seem to have a big heart.

The next character is Danush the famous Sri Lankan actor. He seems to have come from a middle class background but now has the upper class airs. He charges about Rs. 1.5 million per movie and doesn’t like to reduce prices. His mother is a nice lady (who may become very cruel). She wants Danush to care of human relationships more than money. However Danush continues to say that his humble beginnings need to be forgotten now. He also points out that marriage would cause all his fan girls to get all angry with him (awwww darling!). His character is played by Isuru who has dubbed Lee Min Ho in (The Heirs as Kim Tan and BOF as Gu Jun Pyo on TV Derana). He currently dubs HawKyung in My love from another star on Sirasa TV. His voice has made fan girls go mad and I believe his acting would do the same. His acting has ranged from an underworld thug to a spineless idiot. So I have having high hopes on this character.

Ishi or Ishini played by Sonali of Wassane Premaya is a fun loving, playful kid of a girl. She still has teddy bears on her bed and is her mother’s sweet heart. Some would point out that she is the 21^st century’s “Modern girl”.  She has this playful attitude and the cute looks. To add to this she is a bit spoiled in a good way. So she is kind of like a lovable, adorable teddy bear right now J

 

Ishi

I have to say that the music of this drama is very promising. I am saying this because the music is just beautiful to hear. If I am not wrong I think the music is done by the Dream Star crowd. No matter who does it I have to say “hats off to you guys!” It’s also good to note that each character has their interlude song. This makes the drama like a KDrama and conveys the emotions so well. The camera angles and the picture quality of this drama is as good as it is on Wassane Premaya. The cameramen and the director have done a bloody good job in making sure that the drama is perfect. According to advertisements on TV Derana this drama has used Bollywood technology and I have to say it is really true.

The drama also grounds firmly on reality. It doesn’t play around with society making us see a world which we haven’t seen before. It focuses on a normal middle class family with normal values and norms. It is made in such a way that you and I can relate to it and I think that’s mainly why people so like it. I hope Dedunnai Adare’s screenwriters keep its nice bubbly, active and rich plot running and not make the drama draggy and melodramatic like the former 8.30 drama shown on TV Derana. This drama is shown on the 8.30pm drama slot and repeat runs are shown on Sunday from 10.00 am onwards.
