Deweni Inima : POV Avantha : Chapter 1

9:44 AM 0 Comments

Hi guys :). So this is a Fan fiction that I came up with based on Deweni Inima. We have not to this day actually seen Avantha's point of view (POV) on the situations he has faced. It has always been an one sided affair and in this post I try to look at his side of the story. This is the first chapter of this fanfic and if you guys think it is good I would continue it. I want you guys to check out this post and leave your view on this chapter below. If you guys want any other characters point of view you guys can let me know below and I would try my best to respond personally. As you guys know this is a new concept with regard to Sri Lankan dramas and this is my first time therefore I would appreciate it if you guys leave feedback in the comment  section. So let's get to business shall we? Hope you guys enjoy :)

It’s been over 3 months since dad’s death. The pain seems to linger as if it is trying to give me more pain. It has come to the point where I really cannot remember a morning in which I haven’t woken up with what seems to a constant hangover. Could life get any worse? Thinking about it now, I cannot remember a point in time in which I have felt more helpless. All my life my dad has been behind everything I did, and even though I did not acknowledge it he has always been a constant source of support and guidance. I hate myself. I hate myself for the person I have been and everything I will be and for the rest of my life I would regret every single moment I had taken Dad for granted. What am I without him? What will I become? What is the point of living with this lingering pain and regret? My mom just seems not to care, she simply goes on with life as if dad never existed, as if she just did not care what has happened to him or for that matter what would happen to me. She continues her daily life with the same naïve outlook on life; she continues to spend her times at spas or doing more shopping and I sometimes wonder whether she really cared. I have not for once seen her, even at the funeral crying with that look over her face of complete devastation that I saw in Udeni auntie’s face. I cannot help but feel that dad knew all along who loved him for who he is and who loved him for his money and that realization alone shatters me.

For many nights now, I have spent outside home trying to find the solution for this lingering pain at the bottom of an alcohol bottle but rather than a solution all I have got are hazy nightmares and a constant pain behind my head as if it is going to explode. No matter how late I am or even if I never come home I just feel my mom really doesn’t care. A/Ls are just a few months away and I haven’t been to school in about 4 months and it has come to the point where I just want to give up. Who really cares about what happens to me? Dad was always looking into what I was doing and wanting me to excel both in my studies and cricket but now who really cares about what happens to me? Grandpa has been in his “moods” constantly since dad’s death and I don’t think he even knows that I don’t go to school anymore.

The only reason I am still living, still breathing, still smiling is because of one reason alone and that is Dewmi. I have had my share of women and that’s even before Samalka, and I have never really stuck to one woman which is apparently trait I got from grandpa. It was just so easy to enter in to a no-strings attached relationship and just let it flow. If, with time I felt like I needed change I could just go on to the next woman without thinking twice about the one I just left. I have to say that it was quite easy to get women when you are Avantha Fernando. I had the fame, the money, the good looks and with a practiced charm I could get any woman my heart desires on her knees begging for my attention. At least, this is what I thought until I met Dewmi.

At first, she was just another girl, just another challenge which I dared myself to win and nothing more. She was Anuhus’s sister and what better way to get at him than through that poor girl and she seems innocent enough to fall for my trap. At least this was the plan until my heart decided to say otherwise. Everything went smoothly until my dreams were filled with her smile and her constant bugging became endearing. At that point I knew that life wasn’t going to be the same again. Here was a girl who knew that I was the devil himself, a girl who knew that I did the worst things possible on her brother but yet she decided to stay back and fix the devil himself. Up until that point of time I did not know that I was a broken person who needed to be fixed. Her gentle nudging slowly replaced my want for a mother who cared, and her playfulness replaced mine with responsibility and for the first time in my life I really wanted to change myself for her sake.

All my life women and friends came behind me for money or my fame, but for once here was a woman who stood behind when everything left me just to ensure I did not give up on my life. I try hard to not show my feelings, I simply cannot bring her into my monstrous life before I decided to change, but change is hard to come by. I try to change my ways but I have gotten used to them and now like a drug I cannot get away from them. I feel it is far too late now. Sometimes I wonder whether I have gone to the point of no return and deep down I just feel that even if I do try I will just be another disappointment and that’s what I fear. She is my life and I fear that I will disappoint her as well and it is too hard to bear to see her hope collapse right in front of her eyes.

I am not worthy of her time or affection and I try hard to show that I will never be the man she wants me to be, yet she keeps coming back and every time she does I feel drawn to her like I have never felt before. What is this feeling I feel for her? Why am I trying to be the good guy in front of her? Why am I trying to push her away even though I know very well I will not survive without her? Her strength and love gives my life hope but I know that if she dares to get close to me she will be destroyed. My actions will destroy her just like they did my dad and I just cannot survive that same earth shattering pain for the second time.

No, it’s easier to push her away and show her that I am a good for nothing guy. Then, at least she will find someone worthy of her love. Yet why am I drawn to her? Why does the simple action of sending her home alone at night cause me to lose my sleep? Why does it cause me to panic and run after her even if I’ll most probably be killed by her dad? Am I going mad? I just wish dad was there, he would have helped, or would he? I just feel life was just better when I was the bad guy. Who am I now? Can I even survive without my life beside me? It’s comforting to lean on her strength knowing that she is out there watching out for me  waiting patiently tell I change but what can I give her? I am nothing but a shadow of my former self so will she still be with me throughout my life being my pillar of strength…my mom couldn’t do that and nor could my dad so how can she be there for me even when I am just nothing but a disappointment?

Deweni Inima Overall Review 2018

5:43 AM 0 Comments

Hi guysJ.  How are you guys doing? I am kinda fine but I seriously think I screwed up my finals but let’s just leave that stuff alone, shall we? As you guys already know I wasn’t able to post much this year, this mainly due to my laptop breaking down and most of my finished articles were destroyed with it. I wasn’t quite able to recover anything at all from that laptop and here we are starting all over again. During my time off a lot has happened in Deweni Inima and we will just look at the main events and look into it. There is going to be a lot of fan girl “rubbish” as this post progresses so please excuse me:P. So let’s get started shall we????

The most awesome, amazing and magnificent thing that happened during my “break or my breakdown(as I would like to call it)” was DEWANTHA and omg am I not hyped. It is after quite some time that Sri Lankan screens are seeing some real “romance” apart from the “let us hold our hands” or the “there is a lot of sexual tension in this room” scenes commonly found in many Indian and Sri Lankan dramas. At the beginning of their love story there were loads of gaps within the character development aspect of Dewmi and Avantha. This was basically because I feel that the writers at this point seemed to have focused mainly on “marketing” Anuhus and his love story with Samalka and those “ohhh so not funny” scenes involving Mike and Raneh. So when it comes to the character development of Dewmi and Avantha what we basically got were the very “good” Dewmi and the very “bad” Avantha. There was no middle ground and half the time I felt Avantha was just a playboy after some sex rather than real love.

This of course was proved wrong as the drama moved forward and the writers started to give more emphasis to Dewmi and Avantha. What I love about these two characters is the fact that they are both equally flawed, neither of them the “epitome’ of “good” or “bad” unlike either Anuhus or Samalka. It is because of this that I started to love this couple. Looking at Dewmi prima facie we can say that she is sweet, kind, from a good family, good daughter and most probably a well behaving girl. However, when you get to know her the writers show us hidden depths within her character. We get to know that she is passionate and that just like every other girl out there she has a very romantic at heart and just like so many of us out there she fell in love with the “bad boy” (not to mention the hottest guy on Sri Lankan telly right now!). Throughout the time we watched the drama I feel that we have gotten to know many sides of Dewmi as oppose to Samalka. We have seen Dewmi as a mother figure, a sister and of course the most playful honey bunny on planet Earth.

This is something I have not seen in Samalka’s character as most of the time she is crying in front of people to get sympathy and attention. The writers in this way has screwed up her character so much that there seems to be no return. I personally feel Samalka’s character no matter what has to leave the drama. As far as I am concerned this may happen in the most tear jerking way possible such as through a cancer or maybe they can make her go mad with jealousy causing her to be psychotic or we can have her commit suicide and then show the lasting impact she had on the lives of others (suicide is a big issue in Sri Lanka right now after all) .However I do have to mention that I do see a psychotic side in Samalka when she talks to Anuhus with regards to Lihini. I know some of you could feel otherwise but I feel the way she brought up the notes, wallithalapa and the bike ride are downright creepy as going out with her does not mean Anuhus cannot get to have other girls as friends, right? Plus she is not even Anuhus’s girl friend to that matter as they are not officially dating like Dewmi and Avantha.

In addition to this I feel she is just not the right type of girl for Anuhus. Anuhus is a guy who is carrying the weight of the whole world on his shoulders. He has his mother’s problems, he has his own “dad issues” and recently he has the “my little brother is screwing up his life” issues. All these issues means that Anuhus has so much responsibility on his shoulders so I feel that the girl he gets need to be someone who can carry that weight with him not someone who has her own luggage and emotional issues which would further add to Anuhus’s burden.

If you look closely you will see that when Anuhus needs Samalka the most she was not there for him. When he had “dad issues” and didn’t talk to her for some time she was not worried about what the hell has happened to him (like Lihini did) but rather as to why he didn’t come to check on her mom with her. Even in the situations she was there for him, the most she has done is to cry on him and ask him what would happen to her is he were to fall emotionally. To tell the truth her “whining” is getting on my nerves and her lack of character development is becoming quite obvious. Thus, the easiest option here is to get rid of her as it is quite late to make drastic character developments to her right now (unless her mom gets well).

All in all I feel Lihini is a better option here as she seems the strong type who is a bit shy which goes well with Anuhus’s playfulness and “big brother” features. She is also someone who deeply cares about others and this is clearly seen by the concerned looks she gives to both Samalka and Dewmi and this could help Anuhus a lot as he is in need of someone who listens to his problems and not someone who adds to them. The fact that Anuhus spoke with Dewmi (in a fit of rage) about his dad issues shows that Samalka is not offering much help on that agenda. As a matter of fact how many times have we seen Samalka actually talking about Anuhus’s issues rather than her own? I believe none as I haven’t seen it at all.

Just like his big bro Avantha on the other hand is having similar issues but unlike Anuhus he has a supportive girl next to him whom he calls his “life”. Dewmi unlike Samalka is someone who would keep her problems aside in order to help people she loves. She used to do it for Anuhus but now she is doing it for Avantha. In fact Avantha changed in the most drastic ways simply because of Dewmi and her selfless efforts. In this sense she is one of the fully developed characters in this drama. However I have to say it is actually Avantha who is really the most changed character right now. His change after Ravi’s death is so drastic that I myself cannot believe it is the same Avantha at the beginning of the drama who is now Dewmi’s boyfriend.

Looking at it this way, Keshan is just an amazing actor and he does justice to Avantha’s character. I have personally felt like I went through everything Avantha went through just by Keshan’s acting. He is able to be so expressive that there is no need for words when he is acting to get the point across.   Let’s just say that he is just making me swoon every time he comes on screen. His character no matter what has an alpha male, dark yet troubled, loving yet angry, caring yet hates to show it, feature to it which many women in the past has fallen for and as did my predecessors I too have fallen into that same trap. He is basically every woman’s fantasy man and like every other woman I feel he is irresistible: P. The way he hates people interfering in his life but yet really wants someone to look after him to ask him where he is and what he is doing is so endearing that every time he is on screen I have a wide stupid smile on my face….ahhh I believe I am in love.. he is such a cute bag of sweetsJ….Okay let’s just move past that fan girl rubbish (let’s just pretend it never happened) and move on to what I believe this drama holds for the future.

I personally feel that this drama is in a great place right now. Ananda is finding out or hoping to find out about Anuhus’s inheritance, Lihini is falling hard for Anuhus and Dewmi…well she is having the time of her life. I feel the next thing we need is for the brothers to get together at school and maybe have some real bad tension happening between them which causes Dewmi to talk to Avantha and have him accept the fact that Anuhus cares for him. Then we can have them fighting together for their inheritance (kicking Menaka’s ass) and have some real nice cricket matches in between. Have to say that I do miss the cricket talk in the drama as there have been no matches after Avantha left school. I feel that if we do have a match in which the brothers have to work together forgetting all their rivalry then a nice brotherhood can come up…after all cricket in the game of love and unityJ. I also like to see these guys finishing off school and moving on to campus and work and to see how they face their fears and to see whether their love for each other would be strong enough to survive the strains of adulthood.

Overall I feel that this drama has great potential and it is living up to the hype but there are serious plot holes when it comes to character development and issues such as that of Samalka and Mike which needs to be addressed ASAP.
Well then, thanks for reading over 1700 words on Deweni Inima…we part here hoping to meet again in another exciting review on Drama Queen..Don’t forget to be tuned in guys <3 J.

Deweni Inima: 2017 – 2018 overall review (Part 1 - Dewmi - Avantha)

9:06 PM 0 Comments

Hello guysJ I am back after a very long break. I was stuck to my neck with studies and absolute laziness. To add to this my laptop went for a six and I believe it will never be recovered. So right now I’m using my little bro’s laptop and he absolutely knows nothing about it :P. So during my absence from the blog scene I did have the time to watch One Tree Hill and Lucifer and omg ain’t the Devil HOT! Overall I had the time to watch Koombiyo as well and I have to say that it’s an amazing drama. So without further ado let’s get down to business shall we? This post will most probably be broken into 3 separate blog posts (Dewmi-Avantha and Anuhus – Samalka and Criticisms) as I have so much to say about Deweni Inima and the current plotline and the utter failures it has been facing in recent times.

Dewmi - Avantha

So the highlight of this year’s Deweni Inima was the fact that finally Dewmi gave up on Anuhus and moved on. I mean sometimes I wonder whether she mistook her sisterly love towards him for the real deal. I have to say that this move had a very positive effect on me as I always wondered why all the women flocked around Anuhus when his half brother is hot as hell :P. Also I personally felt that Anuhus and Dewmi just didn’t match because Dewmi was a bit too playful for Anuhus. Anuhus really needs someone a little less playful aka in my books I call that “BORING” and thus Samalka fits the description pretty well. Having said all that as much as Dewmi’s character is growing I feel she is yet the immature girl she was 100 episodes ago. She still has her playfulness and she still believes people will change over time. I feel that Dewmi might be wrong with the last regard because as far as I can see I don’t believe changing Avantha will be as easy as she believes it to be.

Avantha does show that he really cares for Dewmi as he was a bit hurt over the fact that Dewmi had to get hit by her dad because of his mistake however this doesn’t mean he is an angel. He simply is the kind of guy who hates to be under the control of anyone. He wants to do whatever he wants and he wants everyone to approve what he does. In simple words he wants to be the King. I have a bad feeling that with Dewmi’s growing feelings towards Avantha she will be taken for granted. The attraction Avantha had towards her was the fact she resembled the “forbidden fruit” as she was Anuhus’s sister. However, as soon as he gets hold of Dewmi he might feel she is not worth the hype, the same way he felt about Samalka. I personally believe that Dewmi needs to take this fact into account and play it safe with Avantha. Avantha may simply be using Dewmi to take revenge from Anuhus and Dewmi needs to take this into account too because she might be heading towards being another “Udeni”.

The added suspense in this love story is the fact that both Avantha and Dewmi needs to hide it from both their parents. I have a feeling that Anuhus has already suspected something and it won’t be long before Dewmi will get caught. There is also a chance that Dewmi might break up things between them as Avantha simply does not seem to change. He simply seems to be playing around with Dewmi’s feelings and even the “don’t do anything bad for 2 months” challenge is just a joke for him. Dewmi needs to realize that if she is to have any chance of changing Avantha that is only if she herself changes. I am saying this because of something weird I saw in her.

If you look carefully the feelings Dewmi is having towards Avantha is simply a red hot crush. It is the kind of thing you have when you are in a reckless mood. To Dewmi Avantha represents everything bad, everything her family told her to keep away from. To her the act of getting closer to Avantha is a rebellious deed. She wants to do it so that everyone will see that she is not the innocent little sister anymore. To add to this she plainly wants revenge from Samalka.

In Dewmi’s head Samalka took away Anuhus from her aka took something that clearly belonged to her. Dewmi believes that by having an affair with Avantha she is taking something away from Samalka aka something that belonged to Samalka. It simply seems to be a revenge plot. This would explain why she is always talking about her relationship (with Avantha) with Samalka.  She believes that both Anuhus and Samalka will be jealous about her relationship with Avantha. In a very ironic way it seems to me that Dewmi just wants Avantha as a trophy boyfriend aka “look I have a hot boyfriend who used to date Samalka!” In a weird way this makes her similar to Avantha’s mother Ameesha as she too believes Ravi is her “hot man…the prime catch”.

So I believe that the writers should push these two towards a more romantic relationship. As far as I see this is just an A/L crush towards the hot guy in class. If the drama is to go further from here then the writers need to give more screen time to Avantha and Dewmi. I don’t understand why their storyline is just every other day when Anuhus and Samalka’s story goes every day. Most probably the writers need to cut down on the Mike scenes and put more of these two.

We need more drama, more emotion, more passion and I feel all that will come to the drama from this one relationship. If Avantha can be shown as more sincere and Dewmi more in love I believe these characters will match up to their counterparts in One Tree Hill aka Nathan Scott and Haley. If more “Dewantha” scenes are not added we as an audience will be more bored as the drama progresses as the Samalka Anuhus relationship is a more mature and boring one  unlike Dewantha which is “hot from the oven”.

Nathan Scott (Avantha) and Haley(Dewmi)

Let’s just hope the writers listen to us and in the mean time you can always share this post or voice your concerns on social media. After all it is after such a long time that a good drama is put up on Sri Lankan TV screens and we need to ensure that the standards are kept high. So on this note Part 1 of the review ends…lets meet again in the next part….:) Stay tuned to Drama Queen for more news from the Sri Lankan drama scene.

Deweni Inima September Review 2017.

6:45 AM 0 Comments

Hello guysJ. Most of my classes this week got cancelled and so I have a little more free time in which I’m going to do some blog work. This will be the first post for October but be assured that 3 more posts will be posted on 3 different dramas within this month. I hope you guys are doing fine and that things are all working out for you. Currently working my ass off for my exams...things are “fine” let’s leave it at thatJ. It has been a while since I have posted isn’t it? Those days I use to post about 135 posts a year but then things have changed...priorities have changed and well life goes on. Let’s get to the review shall we?

So this month wasn’t the best Deweni Inima month ever because I felt it dragged certain story arcs way too much. The first huge draggy scene was when Udeni’s shop got sealed for the 2nd time and this time too, the culprit was Amesha. I totally don’t understand why all Udeni can do is cry and cry all the time. I mean look, when she opened the door and saw what has happened to her shop if it was me my first reaction would have been to close the door. Also she wasn’t even the tiniest bit suspicious as to how the PHI officers turned up exactly at the time she opened that door. However thank god Anuhas and Danuka got a “whiff” of it all being done by a “third party”.

With that being said, I have to point out that the screen writers should seriously make some effort to give more “power” to Udeni. She may have been a naive girl when she was with Ravi but she raised a boy all on her own for 19 years and that should make a woman stronger, not weaker.  I also didn’t like the fact that she is all “melty melty” when she speaks to Ravi. Come on woman! He is a married man with an 18 year old kid! Leave those old feelings at bay for god sake!

The next draggy issues were on the bat and Samalka. Of course poor Anuhas has to spend money on the bat and because of that he simply cannot pay Samalka’s boarding fees. If I was Samalka I would just sell my bloody “Iphone” to get the cash! I mean that bloody thing cost about 70000 rupees! She can pawn her chain to buy a bat for Anuhas but cannot sell her phone to get boarding fees? What logic is that? The only thing Samalka can do instead is cry her ass off and run to Anuhas asking for help. The only thing she knows to do is to runaway to Mathale every time an issue arises

For Christ sake writers give this woman some spunk! I also don’t get why the boarding aunty is all like “give me the money on time” out of the blue when generally she is an understanding woman. I mean she seriously can understand Samalka’s position right? She could have given her an extra bit of time. I feel the writers wanted to show some “romantic vibes” between Anuhas and Samalka and so they just pulled up this story arc but seriously guys it is not romantic and cute in fact as a woman I feel it was downright “unfeminist” and cringe worthy!

Apart from these draggy bits I felt that overall it was an alright month. The latest twist in the drama was the new “innocent” village girl who got a scholarship to the city school. It is kind of a good addition because there really are these kinds of new children coming to schools and some people simply don’t understand what these children go through. I kinda felt sorry for the girl (Lehini) because she is treated really badly by theses “Colombo” people. Then, to think about it she is a bit too innocent and if it was me in that position (given that I am a daredevil) I would have killed those Colombo shishi fufus (aka posh people) mind you.

The way Samalka treated her is very nice but then I have this bad feeling that Samalka might regret it later. I really didn’t like the “almost romantic like” vibe around Anuhas and Lehini and to add to that I felt that the interactions between them was amazingly cute. There was a rumour going around that Samalka will get a cancer and die which would make Deweni Inima have an “A fault in our stars” feel to it. If this story is true then I would think it is good because it will make the series more emotional.

Plus I don’t have much feeling towards Samalka – just feel her character is not close enough to Anuhas. It has been over 175 episodes and both of them haven’t even shown hints of romantic love – say I love you for god sake! If Samalka is to die then I think Lihini must come in to help Anuhas cope with the loss this would then lead to romance and love and etc. That really would be an amazing storyline. Or maybe the writers could pair Lihini with Chubby but then I don’t think it will work out. Deep down though I really hope the screen writers don't screw up the current Anuha - Samalka track...I don't like Samalka being ditched.

The cutest parts yet this month were those between Dewmi and Avantha. I’m seriously rooting for this couple. I love the way both these two people act cute around each other plus I totally love Avantha’s cute smiles every time he sees Dewmi. I really liked the I-throw-the-key-you-find it scene and how Danuka comes in and screws everything up. These are the only scenes apart for Mike and Chubby’s comic scenes which bring a smile to people’s faces. I really, really hope the writers put way more interactions between these two and put some romance between them.  The chemistry is at such a high level when it comes to these two on screen!

The Cubby and Mike scenes also need to be appreciated because these two put so much effort into their acting. Their little little playful things remind me of the dumb stuff I did in my school years and it just gives a feeling of contentment – if you get what I mean. Plus these two buggers are very good with their Tamil- the Basha theme plan to trick Avantha was crazy J.  The “war” between Lionel and Sonali Teacher is also amazingly funny and sometimes the “wars” tend to be more flirting than actually a fight (at least on Lionel’s part). Maybe the writers are going to put these opposites together? It will be fun to watch no doubt J.

Anuhas’s problems were a main theme throughout this month. It started off with the bat and then ended with Chubby throwing Sheran in the air. The scene where Anuhas is utterly humiliated by his own father and step brother was just so sad to watch. I mean come on, why does Ravi have to show his “bitchiness” at Anuhas all the time? But then I just loved it when Anuhas took it all back from Avantha by blooding his nose but then if you watched closely you would have seen the concern Anuhas had for Avantha.

Yes, for a moment Anuhas forgot that Avantha was his step brother but then when his anger settled down it was replaced by concern for Avantha (which is so cute – little brother- big brother scene). This just showed to us just how well Udeni has raised Anuhas –it just proved what Udeni said to Amesh “I have raised my son in a far better way than you have raised yours.”

So that’s all for this week and I hope you guys enjoyed this review, Don’t forget to be tuned into to Drama Queen for the latest in the Sri Lankan dramaworld - <3 love you all <3

Deweni Inima - A Forgotten Love - August Review 2017

11:39 PM 2 Comments

What’s up guys? How are you all doing? Yep I know that I am very late to this and I am sorry about that. I am now in the 3rd year and the results were good. I just needed some time off to get my mind together and decide what subjects I am going to do for the final year, so I was very busy. Even after so much thinking however I haven’t still decided what I am going to do and it is a bit stressful. However let me keep all my life story stuff aside and get to the much waited reviewJ. So let’s get started shall we???

Okay, so this month was a hectic month in Deweni Inima and it was quite enjoyable to watch. I know some of you are comparing this storyline with that of One tree Hill (OTH) and stating that Deweni Inima is getting draggy and much like a Indian soap opera but then I don’t think so. I believe OTH was quite a different story because it speaks of a different culture.

Halfway through it talks of living together, sex and booze but that is not a possibility with Deweni Inima. If the writer even thought of putting such things into this drama people will stop watching it and so to compensate for that Deweni Inima writers have to put in more screen time for Mike and Chubby and even Malki and Danuka.

After all, if all the characters are not provided with a storyline then we are left guessing what happened to them. I personally like the strategy the writers are using right now. They are putting in the drama, the anger and love but all in small doses. I really don’t like those dramas like Swapna which has huge doses of hatred and drama; I tend to skip those episodes intentionally. In Deweni Inima I feel the writers has striked the right balance on the emotionsJ.

This week the whole drama was about Udeni and Ravi’s love story. There was so much emotion in those scenes that I just felt that they were in love again. I just felt that somewhere deep down Ravi was still deeply in love with Udeni. I felt that he might have married Amesha because his father wanted him to. I felt that he was doing all those bad things to Anuhas because he didn’t want to feel the love he felt for Udeni and her son. Those scenes were what I would call “high voltage” and from what I saw Udeni is yet helplessly in love with Ravi and his ego.

If I were to give my opinion on this I would say that this is bad news...very bad news. Look, what I mean is that Amesha is already pissed with Udeni and if by any chance she finds something up between Ravi and Udeni she will kill Anuhas. Udeni in that sense is asking for trouble by still loving Ravi. I also really don’t like the way she falls apart in front of Amesha. I mean if I was Udeni I would just “accidently” throw a juice at Amesha’s face the next time she comes to my shop. Amesha is just a regular bitch (Anjula’s acting is amazing) and Udeni should reply back to her accusations.

Amesha even had the gut to call Udeni a “whore” and if it was me, I would have acted like I didn’t hear it right – just like Ananda did some time ago. I seriously think that the writers should put some life into Udeni. I just feel she is being too emotional...I need more “woman power”. For god sake, this is a woman who was a single mother in this conservative Sri Lankan society so she has to be more tough right? Come on writers...work on it!!!

The love this month I felt came from Anuhas and Samalka (as usual) but the utter cuteness came from Avantha and Dewmi. OMG!!! These two match so much!!! Dewmi really knows how to teach Avantha his life lessons in the harshest possible way. I loved it when she took the jeep for a ride right in front of Avantha’s eyes. If it was Anuhas in this situation he would just throw an anger fit and Avantha would enjoy it but Dewmi just knows how to wind up Avantha – LOVE THAT!!  Seriously!!!These two need more screen time together...one meet up once a week on screen is not enough...!!!

If this love story is going to happen I want Avantha to fall in love first but he shouldn’t understand that what he is feeling is love. I want him to fight that feeling and be angry with himself. I want him to have sleepless nights and I want him to have an inner fight with himself. Yes, I want him to suffer, I want him to torture himself...it’s about time he understood the true meaning of love. I need him questioning about why he feels so protective when it comes to Dewmi. Since he is such an arrogant character I don’t personally believe falling head over heels in love without an inner fight is quite his characterJ.

I also liked that fact that this month finally the writers made some progress with Samalka’s character. I feel that the fact that she faced Dewmi and told her she can make Anuhas go for cricket practices is a big thing. However I want the writers to be more realistic. I know Samalka had lost so much in her life but I don’t think she will let go off Anuhas so easily. After all it is after such a long time that she found someone who loves and cares for her like Anuhas so how can she give him up to Dewmi without a fight.

I really want the writers to progress in this area because I really don’t like this draggy love triangle between Anuhas – Samalka – Dewmi and the other one between Anuhas - Samalka – Avantha. It just doesn’t seem to be progressing either way. I want Avantha and Dewmi to understand that Anuhas – Samalka are meant to be together and then move on from there onwards...move on and fall in love with each other...

So this is about it when it comes to the overall review. I kinda dragged it because I wanted to include the results from the Coach Sir VS Lionel match in this review but then you guys must have been impatiently waiting for this review so I just went forward with itJ. Hope you enjoyed this review and stay tuned to Drama Queen for the latest in the Sri Lankan Drama Land <3 J.
