Well LOST is a very famous TV series and who hasn’t seen the
words LOST written in white on a black background. It was shown on ABC in 2004
and ran on for 6 seasons until 2010. This TV series was first shown on ART TV
in Sri Lanka and I was among the few to watch it. I am not 100% sure if it was
shown on ART TV but I watched it on some channel on Sri Lankan Tv.
The plot line of this series is of a set of plane crash
survivors who are stuck in an island. Well as always fights start too occur in a
race for survival. The plane after all was full of different kinds of people
and they obviously will not fit in. It became famous all over the world and is
usually said to be a must watch TV series of all time. I myself was not a big
fan of the whole drama; it was far too much to take in at the time it was shown
in Sri Lanka. However ITN will be showing it every Sunday at 10 pm.
With the fact that this drama is 6 seasons and has a total
of 120 episodes of 40 to 45 minutes in length will of course take forever to
end. I mean waiting one whole week for Sunday to watch the next episode is not
very appealing to me. Moreover to make the drama more accessible it is dubbed
in Sinhala. So this makes it possible to anyone to watch it. So anyone who is
jobless at 10 pm on a sleepless Sunday night can watch some first hand action
and adventure.

The series has a lot of supernatural elements especially
when it comes to why the plane crashed and about the tribal people who want to
kill the survivors. Most of the characters are written off the middle of the
series and you kind of feel it’s hard to emotionally connect with a particular
character. The cast itself is multi cultural to some extent with Latin
Americans and Koreans.
The series continuously reminded me of the reality show
Survivor which was also shown on ART TV. The whole series was about how the survivors
survive in the island and also how their lives are after this incident.
Moreover it also has a part where they show the survivors in their afterlife.
Overall this is a good series and I would recommend you to
give it a shot. However as the plot intensifies you will find yourself being
annoyed at the fact that the series is only shown on Sundays. The overall
waiting for one week to know the next part would obviously annoy you. Anyhow I
would give this series 8.3/10 on my drama scale.
