If I could change the World.

7:19 AM 0 Comments

I know it sounds impossible.
But if men could make a machine fly,
Why not try?
I would be able to make it a beautiful place,
I would make the poor rich,
I would give people a second chance,
I try to make people stop been jealous,
And make them help each other

I’ll make people understand each other,
But is it even possible?
This little dream of mine
Will it ever work out?
But what would you do if you could change the world?
Something Horrid?
 Something Good?
Come on tell me…
Because you have already got that chance.

Being born in this world,
Is a chance itself,
Because if you try you can do anything,
If men can make a machine fly
Then changing the world is easier to try.
You don’t need money,
You don’t need help.
Just a word can change the world,
Just a smile can change the world,
A single good deed can change the world.

But before all this try changing yourself
Because if one person changes in the world.
Then the world is already changed
Because everything starts from something small.
That’s what I’ll do

If I could change the world…

A pretty Awesome Place.

7:29 AM 0 Comments

Isn’t the world an awesome place?
A place of joy and a place of grace,
While we are a sleep; another’s at school,
While the others in a pool.
The sun might be here but the moon might be there.
We might smile the but the other might not care,
Isn’t that rare?
Why don’t we share?
While one has food the other has none,
While one can speak another cannot,
While some can hear the other cannot,
But bear with them for they are one of us.
Why are we so different and diverse?
But yet we tend to be friends…
Is that not amazing?
In ones country its cold while in the other it is warm,
While one has peace the other has war,
While one can love the other can hate
But yet we live in one world …
The world is such a small place but with so much happening,
The world is a pretty awesome placeJ

He sings the Lullaby.

7:28 AM 0 Comments

I shout,
I scream but yet I dream,
I cry
I smile all at the same time,
He keeps singing but is not angered,
When I ask he says,
That’s because I love you my child…

I grow up little by little,
I voice my views,
He listens so patiently,
I never ask him but he tries,
He gives me advice,
But I’ve never listened,
I asked questions,
Where is my mother?
He said I’ll get the answers one by one.

I became a young woman,
and
His love was not enough,
I turned to another,
He watches but yet he smiles.
I make my mistakes and I come back,
But this time with another in my arms,
He did not shout,
He did not scream,
He never questioned,
He never accused,
He welcomed me with opened arms.

I shout,
I scream but yet I dream,
I cry,
And smile at the same time,
He smiles and sings
The same Lullaby
This time,
For me and my child,
I say,
Oh father what am I without you?

He keeps singing the lullaby…

Opened my eyes,

7:26 AM 0 Comments

I was young,
So tiny,
So innocent
Not knowing anything about the world,
I dream and I tell her what I want to be,
She says she’ll do whatever to make me succeed.

I think the world’s beautiful so full of wonders,
I hope to see one day,
I feel and hear her but yet haven’t seen her,
I cry I want to see the world,
But she makes me understand,
Makes me think,
It’s far too expensive dear
She says,
I scream and I curse her,
I say I hate her but I never heard her cry,
I ask her what the world looks like and she makes me imagine,
I imagine that it’s a wonderful place.

One day she took me away somewhere,
Someone made my head ache,
My eyes hurt,
Then they said open your eyes,
I opened my eyes slowly,
Everything was so strange
So blurry and then I see her
She looked beautiful but her eyes were bandaged,
Then I understood she gave me her eyes to see,
I opened my eyes to see my mother blind,
I looked at the world,
After sometime,
I see it is not the place I imagined,
Was it worth the sacrifice?
Oh mother I love you,
How could I  have ever said I hated you,
You my mother,
 Opened my eyes…

The Great Merchant Kim Man Deok.

3:43 AM 0 Comments

This is a story which is very close to Oshine as they are both about business women. It follows the life story of Kim Man Deok of Jeju who sold 90% of her assets to save the lives of the Jeju people when a famine struck them. Lee- Mi- Yeon acts as Man Deok while Ko Du Shim acts as Granny the person who looks after Man Deok when she is young and also the person who taught her about business. It is a very cute story but I warn you don’t get too close to the two guys who come after Man Deok because you’ll be disappointed. Overall it is a story of a strong headed woman who did what she thought was right and that to she did it the right way.

The Horse Doctor.

3:39 AM 0 Comments

The Horse doctor is a Korean Drama which was shown In Korea in 2011 and ended in 2012. It follows the story of a young man who is a horse doctor but later goes on to be the Royal Physician. It’s a story that any fan of K- drama should watch and especially if you were a fan of Dae Jang Guem,Yi San and Dong Yi you’ll love this. It’s just 50 episodes so anyone who wants to watch it can watch it online on YouTube with English subtitles.
Of course this story is far more hilarious than Dae Jang Guem and Dong Yi since there are so many funny things happening especially between the main actor and the Princess and her cat.

If you have watched Dong Yi you’ll find similarities between King Sukjong and the King in this they are very casual in a way. The love story between Baek Gwang-hyeon acted by Jo Seung-woo  and Kang Ji-nyeong acted by Lee Yo-won is really cute. Unlike other Historical Korean Dramas such as the Great Merchant Kim Man Deok the story ends happily to and it has that kind of plot where you can’t wait till the next episode.  The good thing here is that if you miss an important episode you could always read it on DramasROK and their narrative is very interesting with snapshots of the episodes also.
The villain in this story is a very complicated character who becomes bad from his own choices but tries to do all he can to his best friend’s daughter Ji-nyeong whose father was killed due to the villains wrong doing.

For Sri Lankans the show is shown on Rupavahini from 6.30 to 7.30 on wards under the name Isiwara Vethaduru (The doctor who performs miracles). It is a real eye opener to all the hardhearted doctors worldwide who think about money before their patients. This would be a perfect story for all those people out there who love horses because the story starts and ends with them.

Super Glue Disaster!!!

3:57 AM 0 Comments
 5.1.2007
Dear Journal,
Yesterday I watch X- Files and I didn't sleep a wink and today I feel very sad.  Something really funny happened today.  Ms. Ronald told Luke to bring an Alteco super glue from the office to paste a missing piece of wood from the table ( Alteco Super glue is a horribly sticky gum the adults use). Luke came running and gave Ms. Ronald the super glue. Well after Ms. Ronald made use of the super glue she gave it to Luke who was too bored to go to the office so he just secretly kept it on a bean bag which was there (these bean bags were full of beans I think and they were given to us to sit on in the intervals and free periods, It is quite comfy to the butt). Jeff (a cute Russian boy with blond hair and blue eyes) sat on one of these bean bags in the interval. So after the interval was over he got up and Lo and Behold the bean bag was stuck to his butt! We tried and tried to pull it off but he kept scream so we called our teacher Ms. Ronald and what she did was to cut the area which was not stuck to his butt. Poor Jeff (cutie pie) still had a big red patch of cloth stuck to his white shorts. One of the girls whispered that it reminded her of a patch she saw on an older girl’s skirt (maybe she spilled paint all over her butt. It happens you know.) Then she found the super glue Luke hid and she started scolding him. Then she took Jeff to the principal’s office to take off the rest of the bean bag. Later Jeff came with a new pair of shorts. One of the boys told me Ms, Ronald has had to cut a small piece of Jeff’s butt to take off his shorts and that yet he had little red pieces of thread stuck to his butt. Anyway poor Jeff wasn’t able to sit for the whole day because he had a sore butt and one of the boys told me he wouldn’t be able to sit properly for at least a week. At least I found out that bean bags were filled with tiny regiform balls and not bean seeds.

Why are women treated differently?

3:46 AM 0 Comments

4.1.2007
Dear Journal.
Why can’t a woman be like a man? Why aren’t we treated the same? Today I went and played a 20 over match with the boys and one of the teachers scolded me. She said: “You are a girl no? Why are you dancing around with the boys? Go and play with your girl friends. Isn’t this unfair journal how come I have to play around with a doll who keeps on changing clothes while the boys get to hit a ball around and have an awesome time in the grounds? The teachers at my school call me a tomboy; they even dislike me because I never wear the skirt and the shirt but instead wear the P.E shorts everyday to school. I actually don’t care if they call me a Tom or a Jerry boy (BTW I think the teachers watch the Tom and Jerry show). Some call me a strong headed feminist (A woman fighter for women’s rights) and I think they are damn right. Why the f**** (Ops sorry I heard a boy saying that word at school what does that mean?) do they want me to bow down to the men and wait they are humans and so am I – I always have been and hope I always will be.  I even heard the bigger boys laugh at the idea of having women’s cricket team seriously journal isn’t it bad enough being a women but also being laughed at that’s sh*t. We are the ones who have tummy aches once a month for a week (my cousin sister told me that) and there is more pain when you are pregnant (with the injection and the weather balloon and all) and why don’t they respect us? Are we the new slaves of the 21st century?
Yours loving the strong headed feminist,

The baddest word in the world....

7:37 AM 0 Comments

3.1.2007
Dear Journal,
I got punished today. It was all Emily’s fault. I heard one of the big students shouting at one of his friends. He called him a big fat n*g*er. I asked Emily what n*g*er means. She said that in America where she comes from they used to call it to black people. So since I learnt a new word today I couldn’t wait to try it out on somebody. There is a girl in grade 5 which is upstairs since she is older than us by one year I haven’t spoken to her but she was black. So what I did was I went upstairs with a load of books during the interval and banged into her so that my books would go flying. When she tried to help me out I said “Stop you big fat n*g*er!” Within seconds I got a groundbreaking slap on my left cheek and because I was angry with her I kept calling her a big fat n*g*er. Voila… Within seconds I was crying my heart out at the principal’s office. Mr. Principal said that the word I used was a very bad one…the baddest one in the world to use on a human. So I asked sir if I could call an elephant by this name since it is big, fat and black. For this single sentence I got punished the whole day in front of the principal’s office. I am never going to call any one a n*g*er again….. It’s a very bad word... the baddest in the world!
Yours loving,

Apsara

* I don't like racism and calling people by the colour of their skins. You might be black, red, yellow or white but no matter what we all die and we all are flesh and blood. No matter what all of our's blood is red. The word I've used here is not as an insult it is just a story in the diary and the moral behind it is never call others by the colour of their skins:)

How a baby is born!!!

4:05 AM 0 Comments

2.1.2007
Dear journal,
You know today I learned how children are born!!!! One of my friends told me and it’s disgusting!!!! You know how it’s done ha? Well a girl and a boy… have to... well see a girl and a boy have to give a kiss to the mouth and when the spit mix the girl gets pregnant. It’s disgusting isn’t it I never going to have children.... Just imagine kissing a stinking foul tasting mouth! Who knows if they brush their teeth? You know how my friend knows about this. On my friend’s mother’s birthday his father had given her a kiss and after two months his mom said that she was pregnant. I also went to look to see if he is telling the truth and yes it’s true. His mommy’s tummy is filled up like a big weather balloon. So I asked my friend if his father works in the weather department to have filled his wife with so much hydrogen.  He said his father was a doctor. My friend said he also asked his father how a baby is taken out also but he wanted me to do his homework so that I can pay off for the information he is giving. I said I don’t want to know because I already know. You know journal why the doctor uncle keeps those big injections? That is there to take out the baby. The doctor uncle goes and pricks my friend’s (Joshua) mother’s big tummy with that so that all the hydrogen comes out then the nurse aunty pulls the baby out. The mommy screams only when the doctor uncle pricks her tummy very hard and the baby screams because the injection pricked him also. See science is so easy that’s why I want to be a scientist, because it’s very easy.

The first Entry of the wild child's journal...

6:34 AM 0 Comments

1.1.2007

Dear Journal,
I’m Apsara Weerasekra and I’m a Theravada Buddhist. I was at a little know and no longer existing school down by the seaside. This year I’m going to a new school which also little known Linken International School. It is nearby my house and easier for my parents since the war is also going on I don’t want them to worry about my safety. Maybe that’s why I agreed on joining Linken. I miss my old friends so badly and just imagine not meeting Prenil, Charitha or Sahid anymore. The new school’s pretty horrible. The girls there are so stupid they think that liking cricket, knowing what a computer mother board is or even loving Japanese comics is strange. I don’t know what’s wrong with them. In my other school there were different religions but in here we have only one and these stupid girls are trying to convert me into their religion follower. Is that even legal if I could I would go to the Human Rights commissioner but it’s impossible. I have no one to talk to since I don’t have a boyfriend, I think I’m too young to have one...And I think it’s illegal by law for a 12 year old girl to have one. Anyway I like boys to have fun and play with not to live with. Just Imagine living with a sweaty, stinky, foul mouth idiot whole of my life and when they talk their mouth stinks….. Ewwwwwwwww... One of the boys in my class has 5 teeth left and three of them are eaten by worms and one of them has an extra tooth. I asked him if I could borrow it he said I could but it he said I have to pay him for that…L So my journal I don’t have money so I thought of pasting one of my fallen ones on one side of my teeth. It didn't work out my tongue still tastes of glue because of that. So bye for today journal….
Yours loving,

Apsara

3:45 AM 0 Comments

What is Love....

5:45 AM 0 Comments

Everyone sees love as something which is the strange wonderful feeling you feel when you see someone of your opposite sex. Well, I would say this is quite true in a way if you cut the “wonderful feeling” part. I believe love is a simple choice two humans make to live and have children with each other till they die. I would say it is a choice we make in investing time and feelings in someone you hope you’ll care for, for the rest of your life. Let’s put it this way:
Love is like starting a new business in a highly competitive zone, you have invested all you assets and time into the business and if it fails you will be breaking your most valuable asset, your heart and losing the person you love dearly.
So it simply a choice you make when the time is right. You can choose when the right time is and if you believe you can handle work or studies while worrying about another person well then go for it because that is the right time. I’ve a friend who has fallen in love a million times but everyone of them failed because she choose the wrong time (like right in the middle of our O/L year) to care about another person. The media promotes love in movies, teledramas and songs but all these seem to be like mirages in a vast desert. The only advise I gave my friend was :- “Treat your love one as you treat yourself, treat him or her with the same love and care you treat yourself with – then that’s loveJ That’s everlasting love….”

Dong Yi...

5:37 AM 0 Comments

Well... I’m quite addicted to K-drama and one of the latest I watched was Dong Yi. I watched it straight after Dea Jang Guem so I was quite familiar with the Korean historical setting. The story is about this young girl who is from a low caste who works as a servant in the music bureau of King Sukjong’s palace. Her father and brother were killed when they were accused of being a terrorist group. She was so left to be looked after by brother’s best friend who is Cha Chen So. This guy is cute and he falls in love with Dong Yi later on in the story. This story is totally different to Jang Ok Jong where Dong Yi is shown as a Tyrant who is totally against SukBin (Jang Ok Jung’s court name). Dong Yi is shown as a loving, kind and sweet girl who falls in love with King Sukjong and later is named as his second wife and her son later becomes the King of Korea (Prince Yeoning). This story is about a girl in her twenties who stood up against all odds to look after her lowly treated people and stand for the people she loved (especially her son and King Sukjong).  She is later given the honorific name SukBin which makes Jang Ok Jung jealous. I think this story shows the power of love and the way women could stand up against all odds to do what they thinks is right. I believe this story shows the true power of a woman who lives in a male dominant world and what is really touching is that it is a true story.:)

Merlin.....

5:24 AM 0 Comments
O.k. today’s topic is about the magician who lived and looked after Prince and later King Auther to the best of his ability.  I’m not taking about the old dude who helped Auther by making him pull out the sword from the rock so that he’ll be named king but I’m talking about the young guy who worked as Auther’s servant. This guy is in his early twenties a bit younger than the Prince and his job is to do all the odd jobs in the palace. One of the biggest secrets that nobody knows about this guy is that he is a young warlock, a powerful magician known by the name Emeras all over the kingdom of Camelot.  He has a simple plan in his head and that is to save Prince Auther from his evil stepsister or in other words the wicked witch who tries and fails to gain power in Camelot. He goes through a great deal of pain in the process but then he gets to know that his dad is a dragon lord and after his dad’s death that he is the last of his kind.  I think you guys should try watching this. For those who live in Sri Lanka it goes on Hiru TV every weekend at 8.30 pm. But for the others who love magic, fantasy and adventure I think you can watch it YouTube. It consists of at least 6 seasons and I’ve watched it till the fourth and I really don’t want to spoil it for you guys. Trust me it would actually be a journey that you’ll enjoy.

The strange boy…

7:47 AM 0 Comments

A friend of mine known to have been single for quite a long time had a strange experience just last week. She was on the evening bus to Hambantota to watch the T20 cricket match that Sri Lanka lost. It is quite a long journey you know at least five hours and trust me it’s boring when you are cramped up in a bus which is filled with at least forty or fifty sticky, sweaty people. At least half way through the journey she noticed a dark but very cute guy standing. He was almost falling asleep from the long journey since he also got in from Colombo and has been standing for at least two hours. He was staring at her and this girl is not the pretty type, she doesn't look at all beautiful with her freaking face and all that. Anyway on that day she had her hair down and all and she couldn't look straight at the guy’s eyes and she couldn't even smile but she said she felt a strange feeling towards him. Anyway somewhere near Ambalangoda she looked everywhere for him but he wasn't there she felt that something was missing. When the bus stopped for lunch she looked everywhere for him but he was nowhere to been seen. She felt sad and the next thing she was doing was thinking of him but she said she couldn't actually remember the guy’s face. She asked me if I could help because she hasn’t felt this feeling before. I told her it was attraction but she said that it was impossible because she didn’t even know the guy. So I want to ask you guys if you know what she is feeling because she keeps on calling and talking about this guy. Can you guys tell me about this thing so that I could get rid of this friend of mine?

The Wicked Teacher..... Part 2

7:35 AM 0 Comments

Well now again with the wicked teacher.  Recently the term exams were held at this certain school. The wicked teacher wanted to slaughter the children so that she can show the principal that they are very weak. Actually the papers she makes are quite too hard for a 10-12 year old to do because in Sri Lanka the English papers are easy due to the fact that it is our second language our third language being Tamil. She recently had being very racist and she had being scolding children due to their religion. This had actually mentally abused children to the level that they leave school or come home crying to their parents.  The parents don’t complain to the principal because it had become quite useless as she just says that this teacher is one of the best the school has got.  The older children also have being having problems due to her useless mouth. The children recently held her birthday party which was against the other teacher’s wishes since it was held in grand style. She didn't bring a cake for the staff so she just cut the cake that the children brought and gave it out as her cake and the remaining cake she took home to eat at tea time… Don’t you think the education department should regulate these kinds of teachers?

Flawless Skin.

6:00 AM 0 Comments

There is this girl I know who fell off a bicycle when she was 15 years old.  She didn’t get even a single wound except a simple bruise on her right knee. I thought she was seriously wounded when she suddenly started to cry. I asked her what the matter was and the she told me “I have got a bruise on my right knee and there is blood coming out.” As any other person would say I just told her it was a small bruise and that it’ll heal soon. Just then she told me I want to have flawless skin. I don’t want even one single scratch on my legs. You have a lot of them and they look very ugly I want to look beautiful that is why I don’t even cut vegetables at home because it destroys my manicured nails. I almost died of laughing… seriously this girl doesn’t run in the sports meets at her school and nevertheless she is fat like a pig but she doesn’t do anything at home because she is destroying her Pedi or mani or whatever cured. So much is said and done by our mothers especially in Asian countries where women does all the house work just imagine if our mothers said the same stuff this girl said! God! That would have been the end of civilization in Asia or for that matter in Sri Lanka! Seriously what is the world coming to? NOW IT HAS BECOME A SHAME TO HAVE A WOUND ON YOUR LEG…. Next time they’ll say it’s a shame to have children because it changes your body shapeJ

Teenage Dreams

9:59 PM 0 Comments

Have you ever felt that sometimes things just don’t happen the way they are supposed to? Have you questioned yourself about love, marriage, future or even the books you read? Well I know all of us have questions which aren’t answered and some of them are really important specially when it comes to the girl or boy you love, the one you have a crush on or even the subjects you are supposed to study for you’re A/L’s well I have these questions to and some of them are not even worth answering. Sometimes you have dreams which you really want to achieve like being a lawyer, doctor or an astronaut but as time passes these dreams change dramatically and this could sometimes give you a dead shock like it did to me. All the time when I was a small child in grade 5 I really wanted to be a scientist because I was really good at science but as I came to grade 8 I noticed that having three sections to study was stupid. Little by little I started hating science and then I got interested in Commerce and wanted to be a business woman and then in my O/L year I started to hate accounts. Mainly because it had so many things to memorize and the math part of it was terrible. Now here I am in my A/L year doing English Literature, Business studies and Sociology and wanting to be a lawyer. All those years before I thought that doing Arts was stupid and a waste of time but here am I loving what I’m doing. So guys remember never make quick decisions just let your decision making flow with your abilities or else you’ll regret the decisions you have made about your future. Just remember it is you all who are studying and doing a job not your advisors. So make a right decision. It’s never too lateJ

The other end of the line…

9:54 PM 0 Comments

Two countries. Two cultures. One chance at love…

Yesterday I watched a movie which was really pretty awesome! I think you guys should also try watching it because it is really worth the trouble… This how the story goes and by now you guys should know that the movies name is “The other end of the line.”
Beautiful and radiant, Priya Sethi (Shriya Saran) indulges her infatuation with American culture by working at the Citi One Bank Card Call Centre in Bangalore India. She speaks in perfectly unaccented English. She tells her customers her name is Jennifer David and she is a native of San Francisco. When she happens to call the handsome and charming Granger Woodruff (Jesse Metcalfe) to help him with the fraudulent charges on his credit card, Priya and Granger have an instant connection. Unable to suppress the intrigue their easy chemistry offers, Priya flies to San Francisco, much to her parent’s dismay. When Priya meets Granger, they immediately hit it off. Before long, improbably, unthinkably, they are falling in love. But their young love is not without obstacles as Priya’s family has arrived to bring their wayward daughter home. Now Priya and Granger should overcome parent problems to.

I believe that this is a romantic comedy movie which should be watched because of its funny Indian accents and the way Priya’s father keeps on hitting Granger accusing him of kidnapping his daughter all the way from India. It is really funny and is really a treat to the eye… It was released in 2002 and has both scenes from India as well as in America. Approximate running time is 2 Hours and 5 Minutes.

SOME GIRLS….

This set of girls I know from a class who have become quite an eyesore to almost everyone who cares to look at them… Let alone the look part I could describe them as the walking dead… They bore the guys at the class and even the older children and teachers. They seem to walk around as if they were some kind of Zombies and talk as if they have eaten their religion book, all the time. They are simply antisocial; their jokes make an ordinary 15 or older person vomit rather than laughing. Of course at this tender age all children make vulgar jokes and it’s usually with everyone in class but these people tend to walk around as if they were holy grails… When I was that age my classmate and I set our school ground on fire but these certain girls really seem to believe that women are from Venus and men are from Mars. Seriously living with these guys make the classroom seem more like a cemetery than a place to study in. I so hope that you guys don’t have the same kind of girls/boys in your tuition classes or at school… I do really think that this barrier between boys and girls should not be there to hinder new friendships… of course there is a limit this freedom should go to but these girls are just at number 0 in a scale of 1-10 when it comes to this limit.J

The wicked teacher……

In a school there is a teacher. A teacher who hates other teachers, a teacher who dislike children a teacher who I’m sure is a descendant of Adolf Hitler. She is one cruel person, children just suffer when they come to her class but as soon as they are out of it they really dance the devil with the new class teacher. I sure she believes that the children are her Jewish prisoners all ready to be put into the ghettos  She believes that cruel shots are better than kind words and she even causes disputes within the religions inside the class room. She has one heck of a mouth with which she could scream at the top of her voice. She breaks a child’s dignity and the child’s confidence by just two words of her crappy tongue. She makes even the toughest students cry and then she calls the parents and shouts at them too. She even calls the child’s sibling who happens to be doing his O/L’s and asks him if he is an orphan because his brother doesn't do work at school. I mean the thing is these are children’s lives she is playing around with! She teaches them to carry tales and spy on other teachers or children and that’s really bad. Yes I know this teacher sounds as if she is the principal mentioned in Matilda but trust me this one is worse. Children do have their children’s rights don’t they? She is actually violating all of them. I mean no child actually starts studying in grades 1-5 no? I started studying in grade-9 until then I couldn't even spell Japanese – thank the gods for my English sir who brought my horrible spelling up to a standard where I could do English literature for A/L’s and be Cassius in Julius Caesar. Do you really think it’s fair to abuse children in this way? I would say no! I think our government should regulate what types of teachers are being circulated in International schools since there is also a shortage O/L math’s teachers in some private schools including the well reputed ones.J

Daddy's Poem

7:21 AM 0 Comments

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favourite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mummy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
> If she went to school alone.
>
> But she was not afraid;
> She knew just what to say.
> What to tell her classmates
> Of why he wasn't there today.
>
> But still her mother worried,
> For her to face this day alone.
> And that was why once again,
> She tried to keep her daughter home.
>
> But the little girl went to school
> Eager to tell them all.
> About a dad she never sees
> A dad who never calls.
> There were daddies along the wall in back,
> For everyone to meet.
> Children squirming impatiently,
> Anxious in their seats
>
> One by one the teacher called
> A student from the class.
> To introduce their daddy,
> As seconds slowly passed.
>
> At last the teacher called her name,
> Every child turned to stare.
> Each of them was searching,
> A man who wasn't there.
>
> 'Where's her daddy at?'
> She heard a boy call out.
> 'She probably doesn't have one,'
> Another student dared to shout.
>
> And from somewhere near the back,
> She heard a daddy say,
> 'Looks like another deadbeat dad,
> Too busy to waste his day.'
>
> The words did not offend her,
> As she smiled up at her Mum.
> And looked back at her teacher,
> Who told her to go on.
>
> And with hands behind her back,
> Slowly she began to speak.
> And out from the mouth of a child,
> Came words incredibly unique.
>
> 'My Daddy couldn't be here,
> Because he lives so far away.
> But I know he wishes he could be,
> Since this is such a special day.
>
> And though you cannot meet him,
> I wanted you to know.
> All about my daddy,
> And how much he loves me so.
>
> He loved to tell me stories
> He taught me to ride my bike.
> He surprised me with pink roses,
> And taught me to fly a kite.
>
> We used to share fudge sundaes,
> And ice cream in a cone.
> And though you cannot see him.
> I'm not standing here alone.
>
> 'Cause my daddy's always with me,
> Even though we are apart
> I know because he told me,
> He'll forever be in my heart'
> With that, her little hand reached up,
> And lay across her chest.
> Feeling her own heartbeat,
> Beneath her favourite dress.
> And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
> Her mother stood in tears.
> Proudly watching her daughter,
> Who was wise beyond her years.
>
> For she stood up for the love
> Of a man not in her life.
> Doing what was best for her,
> Doing what was right.
>
> And when she dropped her hand back down,
> Staring straight into the crowd.
> She finished with a voice so soft,
> But its message clear and loud.
>
> 'I love my daddy very much,
> he's my shining star.
> And if he could, he'd be here,
> But heaven's just too far.
>
> You see he is an Aussie soldier
> And died just this past year
> When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
> And taught Australians to fear.
>
> But sometimes when I close my eyes,
> it's like he never went away.'
> And then she closed her eyes,
> And saw him there that day.
>
> And to her mothers amazement,
> She witnessed with surprise.
> A room full of daddies and children,
> All starting to close their eyes.
>
> Who knows what they saw before them,
> Who knows what they felt inside.
> Perhaps for merely a second,
> They saw him at her side.
>
> 'I know you're with me Daddy,'
> To the silence she called out.
> And what happened next made believers,
> Of those once filled with doubt.
>
> Not one in that room could explain it,
> For each of their eyes had been closed.
> But there on the desk beside her,
> Was a fragrant long-stemmed rose.
>
> And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
> By the love of her shining star.
> And given the gift of believing,
> That heaven is never too far.

I got this by mail wanted to share this wonderful love with you!
