Akila’s revenge – Wassane Premaya Week 14

Week: November 9^{th 2015} – November 13^th 2015

Well how are you guys? Here I am again to give you guys another review of Wassane Premaya. I have to point out that this drama is getting draggy and the “We hate each other” sub plot getting very annoying. We all watch a drama because we want to relax and need something other than our problems to think about. However this doesn’t mean we want to watch a drama that has only problems and no joy. After Astha and Aditya’s marriage WP has become quite annoying and one sided. Dear screenwriter where is the happiness, joy and cuteness? Come on dude we love this drama but if you are going to drag it and play around with the plot like this we will be moving on to Dedunnai Adare on Tv Derana. So while keeping this in mind let us all move on to this week’s Wassane Premaya (WP) review.

Akila is the main theme this week and it’s all about what he is up to. Of course we have these little bits of Mr. and Ms Jayasekara and their worries but it doesn’t add up to much. Akila the douche bag is up to no good and this time we have him meeting Mr. Danthanarayana (Shakya) to get back his place in the house. Sonali of course knows nothing about this but the brothers show their distaste. As always Akila has a master plan and part of it is putting all the blame on Astha and clearing his name. Half way through this 100% “lies only” meeting: (Lair! Lair! Pants on fire, hanging from a telephone wire) we see a gun man aiming towards Mr. Danthanarayana. Well as we all know Akila jumps in to “save” his father in law and Mr. Danthanarayana is shocked. He is all “aiyo putha lets go to hospital!” while Akila is all like “No uncle I am totally fine (ya right!)”. So at the end of that scene we see Akila getting out of the vehicle with a bloody arm and Mr. Danthanarayana looking at him with this “Oh! My hero” look.

Outside we meet Akila who cunningly shows us that his arm is bloody only because of fake blood and that it all went well because Mr. Danthanarayana didn’t take him to hospital. On the other hand Shakya is all taken up with what Akila did and is considering taking him into the family (what a father!). So what he does is ask Malini whether Sonali has spoken about getting together with Akila. Malini is shocked and obviously hates the idea. However as she is her husband’s slave she is all like “No husband, but she better go back”.

When the two brothers were asked their opinion about this whole hullabaloo they just got up from their chairs and walked away. However Shakya has another plan. He wants Aditya’s approval on the whole thing. Shakya speaks to Aditya making him sad that Sonali will end up alone. Aditya doesn’t back away but points out that if that’s the case, there are many eligible men ready to marry Sonali. However Shakya asks Aditya whether he would like his sister to go to courts to get her divorce. Aditya does not like that idea at all. Matters are settled and Sonali is to end up with Akila. If I was Sonali I would just take some credit cards, jewelry, cash and clothing and run away from home. Then I will live alone and start life all over again. The screenwriters however have a very different plan for her (they want her to end up like her mother).

The most hilarious scene however was when Aditya came home drunk. He ends up jumping on Astha and telling her that he will sleep on the floor with her to night. Astha is disgusted and jumps on the bed to avoid his advances. On the other hand Aditya is on the floor drunkenly asking back his pillowJ.

This scene has another scene connected with it and without it you guys wouldn’t understand what’s happening. So what happened was that the night before Astha was asked to eat the leftovers from Aditya’s plate. *Note that this is a dumb tradition present in some Asian countries and is supposed to show a woman’s love for her man. As far as I am concerned the woman can show that love in everyday chores or in bed for all that matters. I mean come on who wants to eat leftovers! We are not dogs! The screen writer seems to be a number 1 patriarchy supporter. Astha of course says “No way am I going to eat that stuff!” much to the horror of Malini who is happily eating away. Astha simply takes the plate and leaves it on the kitchen countertop and goes away.

Back to the former scene: Malini sees the plate on the countertop in the morning and comes to Astha’s room to scold her. This is where Malini gets the shock of her life. Aditya is sound asleep on the floor with Astha on the bed. Malini wakes them up and tells Astha to leave at once. Aditya wakes up and scolds his mother and tells her to mind her own business and tells Astha to stop. Astha on the other hand see this as the golden opportunity to get out of the house and tries to grab it with both hands and she tells this to Aditya later. However in the end Malini is kicked out of the room and Aditya and Astha are left alone.

Mr. Jayasekara is facing his own problems due to his suspension from work due to Aditya’s dumb revenge thing. He makes up his mind as to what to do after this, since the family is going through financial strain without his salary. He quickly writes a note. Ms. Jayasekara wakes up in the morning to find that her husband had left and the only thing he has left behind is a note and his will. After a nice faint scene we are left with this tear jerking moment where Mr. Jayasekara walks towards the train (again, but this time for real).

So today’s episode will be all about what is going to happen. As in whether Mr. Jayasekara will commit suicide or whether he will be saved. So let’s meet again next week with week 15 of Wassane Premaya J J J J J J.
