Secret Garden (KDrama) as Me Adambarakari on TV1.

Howdy guysJ. So not long ago My love from Another Star entered Sri Lankan shores as Ananthayen Aa Tharu Kumara on Sirasa TV. It was a sensational hit in Korea and it became even more popular in Sri Lankan after Moon Embraces the Sun (Hiru Sandu Adarayai) was shown on Rupavahini. Now a new KDrama is to enter Sri Lankan shores and this time through Sirasa TV’s sister channel TV1 (formerly known as MTV). This new KDrama is Secret Garden and it has many Korean stars we already know such as Ha Ji-won (Empress Ki) and Yoon Sung – hyun (Hima Thuhina). Let us see what this drama is all about and who else we already know act in it.

Secret Garden was shown on SBS (same channel as My Love from Another Star) in 2010 and has 20, 60 minute episodes. So that would amount about 90+ episodes in Sri Lanka. The plot revolves around Gil Ra-im (Ha Ji-Won) who is a stunt woman. She is immature, annoying and very boyish. However I have to admit that it is hard not to like her and for me personally she reminded me of Guem Jan Di from Boys over Flowers and she just doesn’t believe in romance. The only thing that showed that she was a woman was her obsession over Korean star Oska.

However quite accidently something very magical happens to her when it rains. She starts to swap bodies with rude, bossy yet extremely cute CEO Kim Joo-won (Hyun Bin- from My Lovely Kim Sam soon). This very cute CEO is filthy rich and has everything you can ever ask for. He is handsome, rich, educated, English speaking and the heir to the Moon family “throne”. However he doesn’t believe in love or fairy tales and believe me his version of being “cute” is not our version of being “cute”. He is such a snobbish arrogant guy and I literally preferred Jong-soo over him at the beginning. At the end of the day however he does become the perfect “hubby” material (love Hyun BinJ ).

Oska is Joo-won’s cousin and is soo selfish. He believes he is the best and everything else doesn’t matter. In reality Oska’s career as a Korean star is going down the drain and it wouldn’t be long before he is forgotten. However long time ago Oska was a nice guy and that was when his first love Yoon Seul was with him. Unfortunately Yoon Seul is to marry Joo-won and Oska is a little bit on the jealous side.

Like his cousin Oska relies on money to get him to places but the young talented musician Tae Sun (Hima Thuhina) changes this.

The Jong -soo I mentioned earlier is Director Im Jong-soo who is Gil Ra-im’s boss at stunt school. He is the guy who is the second lead and trust me, he leaves you struggling with the second lead syndrome. He is tough looking and sometimes very hard to handle but deep down he is sweet and really cares for Ra-im. I remember in one scene he tells Joo-won that he wants to be Ra-im’s oppa, brother and father aka be her lover and family. He is such a cute guy. I loved the little competition that’s always seems to be there between Jong-soo and Joo-wonJ.

Just like in My Love from Another Star in this story there is a bit of super naturalness. According to this story every time there is a thunder storm Joo-won and Ra-im swap bodies. This gives the story such a comical twist. It is so sweet when Joo-won wakes up in Ra-im’s body and finds her roommate Ah-young (Semi from My Love from Another Star) all cuddled up with him. On the other hand Oska finds Joo-won all cuddled up in his bed. I always liked these body swapping dramas because they are so much fun to watch. I believe in this drama it is the body swapping that makes the two leads to fall in love with each other.

Overall I would say this is an awesome drama and thus is a must watch. You guys would love the finale and how every character’s story arc is carefully wrapped up. I also loved the fact that the screenwriters bothered to show that the Ra-im and Joo-won love story actually started way back when she was a high school student. This gave the story a well rounded look. It even showed that Joo-won was not so much a hot tempered workaholic as he shows he is. I hope you guys take time to watch this drama and enjoy it. I am quite sorry to say that this TV channel TV1 is mostly available in Colombo but I believe it recently expanded to Gampaha. However you guys can watch it online on the TV1 official website when the drama actually starts. So hope you guys enjoy this post and would watch this drama...lets meet up again in another post J J J J J

June – Week 1 to 3 : 1^st June 2016 – 17^th June 2016

Hello guysJ . It’s been a long time and I really missed you all. I am seriously out of work for 3 months and thus my summer holidays look pretty bleak. No worries anyway since WP is getting all action packed. This post is an overall view on the situation in WP. Yes, I know I missed a lot of posts on it and a lot has happened since my last post. So to catch up I promise you guys an in detail character sketch on each character. This would help you guys place WP in the present storyline. These posts would be posted in the coming weeks and don’t worry I will be consistent. From there onwards the weekly review of WP would continue. The sad news however is that both my computers including my backup computer are under repair so I am not sure I can post every single thing. Sorry about that. So shall we see what the hell is happening in our favorite drama?

Okay let’s start with the A & A couple. Yes it’s been awhile since Aditya and Astha have moved from the D mansion. At first Aditya did not want to even think of returning to the D mansion but with time his sensibility and common sense comes back to him. So after moving away from home he decides to get back on the D throne. However as it does seem it is far too late now. Viraj in one of his underhand black market games has sold the D mansion to Malith Dunusingha. This too is done illegally as Viraj forges Shakya’s signature to hand over the mansion. Pramitha being the bitch she is fakes to Aditya that it was Shakya who actually sold the house. At the end of the day Pramitha and Viraj just move abroad and Sonali being homeless just moves in with A & A.

In an attempt to get back his inheritance aka the D throne Aditya disguises himself as lower class driver Aravinda in a bid to get into the D mansion now owned by Malith. Actually it was Astha’s idea to disguise herself so to get into the D mansion and her aim was to get a document which would prove that Shakya’s sign was forged. However getting the job (which was to look after Malith’s 2 children aka nanny) meant that she will have to stay and work at D mansion and thus forcing her hubby Aditya to follow suit and come in as a lowly driver so as to look after his dear Astha.

The two kids that Astha has to look after are very cute and are very attached to our A&A couple. Aditya’s part time job is to play cricket with the young boy who calls himself Chris Gayle and Astha is fully devoted to forcing Chris Gayle and his sister into doing homework and taking their regular baths. Meanwhile Akila is out on bail and he was bailed out by Malith who has his mind set on taking revenge from the D clan. It happens to be that Shakya had broken his aunt’s heart and destroyed her future in Shakya’s younger days and Malith is dead set o taking revenge.

Akila at the moment is emotionally blackmailing Sonali into leaving her boyfriend Sanka. Sanka is told that if he loves Sonali and wants her to be his wife then he should pay Akila a large sum of money. It is later revealed that this is done in an attempt to see how much money is left with the D clan. I personally believe that Sanka is too much of a sissy and better stand up against Akila. I know he is a campus student and all but he seriously needs to slap Akila across the face if he is to get Sonali.

Coming over to our loving Shakya or Mr. D it is good to notice that he had finally lost his mind. He is pretty bonkers and pretty much the mad hatter. He can’t remember anything and even the little he does remember amounts to nothing. He is a very useless character in the drama right now and I believe it is only in the future that he will be of use to the A&A couple.

So at the moment this is the storyline for WP. It is very engaging but mind you my dear brother is very much addicted to Sadahatama Oba Mage aka Ranveer and Ishani’s love story on Tv Derana and this means that sometimes I cannot watch the last bits of WP because he changes channels to watch his drama which quite annoyingly starts exactly at 9.00 pmL. Anyhow I hope you guys enjoyed this post and don’t worry I would continue reviewing dramas this full year J J J J J.

Rithik and Shivanya

Hello guysJ I am back after a very long holiday. I know that I did promise to post drama reviews from the 1^st of June onwards but both my laptops broke down and Dialog decided to increase their 4G fees. After dealing with both these issues I have come to this point where I can promise you that drama reviews would be posted continuously without delay throughout my summer holidays. So Prema Dadayama is the latest Indian drama to hit Sri Lankan shores and as you guys know I am not quite happy with foreign dramas hitting Sri Lankan shores. Anyhow let us see what the hell this drama is about and what is in store for us drama addicts J

The Couple

Naagin is a 2015 Indian drama series produced by Ekta Kapoor (Yes the woman who destroyed novels such as Custody and Sense and Sensibility by adapting them into dramas). I would describe this as an Indian fantasy drama as it revolves around the mythical creatures called “Naagins”. For those of you who are not familiar with Indian mythology; this is a creature that is a cobra with the ability to transform into any human form. In this drama they point out that the ability to transform into human form is only given to a cobra after worshiping and serving the Hindu God Shiva for 100 years or when a 2 Naagin parents have a child.

Destined to be together? Or not?

The story itself revolves around Rithik ( Arjun Bijlani – He also plays a vital role in Sadahatama Oba Mage). He sees weird dreams where a woman takes him to a temple and she keeps telling him to come with her as he belongs to her. At the beginning of the drama this young man is to be married off to his best friend. From the looks of it he has everything. He is rich, successful, handsome and really funny (ah! A perfect husband.J). His mom is a rather paranoid woman called Yamini and they are members of some long forgotten Maha Raj family. This mom Yamini is hiding something hideous from her son and it’s something to do with her husband and the huge Bungalow they own in their village.

With Rithik’s horoscope being read Yamini gets to know that his “good time” is coming to an end with his 25^th birthday. The guru tells her that he will only survive and live a good life if he is married off before he turns 25. Taking this into mind Yamini tells her husband Ankush to have the engagement in the long forgotten bungalow (she said she wanted to face her fear head on). It is with their coming to this long forgotten bungalow that we get to see this secret of theirs.

As soon as they come to the bungalow all hell breaks loose. There are villagers at the entrance telling them not to come. They met an old man who tells them of the God Shiva temple which they see from a distance. This quite strangely is the same temple which we saw in Rithik’s dreams. As soon as the family leave this good old man suddenly turns into a woman and she too is the woman seen in Rithik’s dreams. The transformation also shows us that she is a Naagin.

To make things worse Rithik finds two marks on his neck which looks like a cobra had bitten him. Then while he goes out finding signal for his mobile (did I mention he is a workaholic?J) everything that happens in his dream starts to take place. At the end of his signal hunt Rithik finds himself thrown down a cliff only to be saved by one of his employees.

Shivanya

This employee is Shivanya and Rithik finds himself falling hard for her. Oh yes 2 days away from his engagement Rithik finds himself falling in love with their family’s servant. Yeah I know what you guys are thinking J...could things get any worse?

Yes it can. In the God Shiva temple a new female cobra is given the ability to be a Naagin after serving her 100 years. This Naagin is Shesha. She is here to take help another Naagin to take revenge from Rithik and his family for something bad they did. She stops at nothing and even comes to stop Rithik’s family from leaving the village and later is seen trying to take revenge from Ankush (Rithik’s dad). In this very moment the Guru who gave Shesha her ability comes to visit Rithik’s family (R family) and he says that the Naagin has come for her revenge and even Rithik’s marriage wouldn’t happen.

So what is this 20 year old secret Rithik’s family is hiding from him? Is Rithik’s marriage going to happen? If so will he ever be able to tell Shivanya that he is starting to have feelings for her? What would happen next time? Will Ankush die after being poisoned by Shesha? Who exactly is Shivanya?

Well now I am going to give you some hints and if you don’t want spoilers don’t be tempted to read from this point onwards.

Rithik's Family

Rithik’s family killed 2 Naagins 20 years ago. This was in an attempt to get the Naga gem which was hidden away in the Lord Shiva temple. Unknown to them these two Naagins (male and female) are parents to a little Naagin girl called Shivanya. The tiny little Shivanya is told to take revenge for her parent’s death. She sees the faces of the murderers through her mother’s eye. However the whole question we have to ask ourselves is who is Rithik? Why was a picture of him dressed as a prince hidden away in a room which has not been open for 20 years? How could they draw a picture of him when he is a young man if he left the bungalow as a tiny baby? Is he really Yamini and Ankush’s son?

Shivanya is not at all what she seems. She is a Naagin and has come to take revenge from Rithik and his family. This is quite sad to see as Rithik is clearly in love with her. Don’t worry J before long she will also be head over heels in love with Rithik and trust me there will be no obstacles when it comes to her love for Rithik. Oh yes! Shivanya and Rithik would be having a very cute romance scene going on and nope Rithik will not be marry his best friendJ. Ankush would obviously be there with Yamini to bless their elder son’s marriage which would happen before his 25^th birthday. Of course this is without them knowing that Shivanya is a Naagin. Oh and beware of Yamini...She could even kill Rithik to get her hands on his money. Not quite a good mother figure...yes she is evil.

Finally in LOVE :P

So this drama features 62 episodes with each with a running time of 55 minutes and was shown in India on Colors Tv. In Sri Lanka it is shown every Saturday and Sunday 8pm to 9pm on Sirasa TV. Hello guysJ. So Sadahatama Oba Mage is the latest drama on Tv Derana. It is good to note that this is the only Indian drama which airs on Tv Derana at prime time on week days. Unlike Sirasa and Hiru TV Derana is actually making an effort to give more time to Sri Lankan dramas than foreign dramas. Anyhow this drama has been on air for quite some time and I was not able to review it simply because I was stuck with exams. The story itself seems very promising and has a very interesting plot line. I actually like this story so much. When it first aired on Colors Tv I was glued to the TV waiting to know what happens to my loving drama. Anyhow as all Ekta dramas this drama too becomes a flop in the end. The finale which aired in February 2016 was such an anti climax to the whole drama. So shall we get into the basics of this drama and then move on to the full blown review?

The drama itself aired on Colors Tv and was an Ekta Kapoor drama. Yes this is the very person who does Yeh Hai Mohabbatien (Me Adarayai), Kum Kum Bhagya (Adarayai Man Adarayai) and Naagin (Prema Dadayama). I know you guys must already be thinking “Oh no this woman is going to screw this drama also” and that is exactly what Ekta did. Anyhow this drama did survive for 446 episodes and this includes about 200 episodes which were very pathetic.

The story itself revolves around Ranveer who is a 20 something servant boy who works under Harshad Parekh who at that time was the King of the share market. However we are told that all the luck that Harshad has in the share market is all because of Ranveer who happens to be good at guessing which stocks will make profits and which stocks wouldn’t. Due to this and because of Ranveer’s good nature Harshad treats Ranveer as his own son.

Harshad himself is married to Falguni (one of my favourite charactersJ) and has two daughters, Ishani and Disha. Ishani is not Harshad’s daughter but is Falguni’s from her first marriage. However it’s clear throughout the drama that Harshad loves Ishani like his own daughter and clearly loves her more than he loves Disha. As in all Indian dramas there are quite a few negative roles in this drama and one of them is Harshad’s mother. She is literally a bitch and I hated her throughout the drama. This woman throughout the drama puts Ishani down and treats her like shit.

However unknown to any of the there is one person who has always loved Ishani for who she was. This person never loved Ishani’s new found wealth or the dowry. He has loved Ishani from the time he saw her enter the Parekh house. This person is none other than Ranveer. Anyhow as all love stories this one will also have its huge and sometimes dumb and exaggerate obstacles. Firstly Ishani only treats Ranveer like a friend. To her he is only her best friend. Then enters into the drama Chirag Mehta, he is handsome and rich and is the obvious choice of a “prince” for Ishani. At first Ishani hates Chirag but Harshad forces Ranveer to make Ishani like Chirag. It was quite heart breaking to see Ranveer doing everything in his power to push Ishani; his one true love towards Chirag. Ranveer thus choose loyalty to Harshad over true love.

Just as all hope for a Ranveer Ishani love story fade we find that Chirag is a womaniser and after this fact is unearthed by Ranveer with the help of Disha Ishani’s marriage is cancelled. Anyhow Disha has been helping Ranveer to fulfil her own lustful desires. Yes she is after sex and this freaks Ranveer out. In the end Disha with the help of Harshad’s mother tells Harshad and the family that Ranveer raped Disha in an attempt to take revenge for not getting Ishani. I didn’t get the damn logic here because as Ishani is single now, Ranveer could easily get her to fall in love with her so why the hell would he rape Disha?

To make things worse Ranveer’s friendship with Ishani is destroyed as she now believes that Ranveer broke her engagement with Chirag because Ranveer wanted her. This just defied the limits of logic because the father of the girl (she is pregnant with Chirag’s child) came in from of the wedding crowd to tell that Chirag fathers his daughter’s child. I mean can a father make up such a lie? I mean Ishani is the dumbest, most idiotic heroine I have ever seen. While Ranveer and his family are kicked out of the house Ishani runs to Chirag’s house with it raining cats and dogs to say sorry to him. Are you serious Ekta? You want to believe there are these types of pathetic dumb girls out there? Maybe in India there are such girls. Before being kicked out of the house Ranveer’s mother curses the Parekhs.

Two years pass out of the blue and Harshad is dead. His family had lost everything. Yes this is possible as Ranveer was the family’s luck. With him gone the family has lost everything. Voila now we have the Cinderella complex coming in. Ranveer has become RV the King of the stock market. He now owns Parekh mansion and everything they owned. He is literally a KING.

Ishani has been engaged to Chirag for 2 years now and Chirag is waiting for the Parekh law suits to end so that they could get their money back. He just wants the money and he cheats around with many girls behind Ishani’s back. She catches him at it sometimes but then Chirag comes up with a perfect excuse and she just believes them. Dear readers this woman is the most dumb and non feminist heroine ever. She is just so pathetic. No matter what Chirag does RV is at fault. It is RV trying to get revenge from her family. I just hate this woman. I mean could another man make you future husband be seduced by another woman. I mean how is that even possible?

Future Husband? will RV stop this marriage?

At the end RV and Ishani marry and then they separate... marry again...fight and blah blah... the story goes on and on. It goes from being a nice story to being downright PATHETIC. Ekta just knows how to destroy dramas. I personally believe that she should be sued for producing dramas which would in the long run destroy the Indian drama industry plus put out a negative image of India to the whole world. Anyhow if you guys want to have a nice story to follow when you are utterly jobless then this would be a perfect drama. If you want a more engaging drama then you guys have to choose something like Ek Hasina Thi or IKPND 1or 2. I would rather recommend you guys to watch Sensory Couple than these downright PATHETIC Indian dramas.

For the Sri Lankan audience Tv Derana is showing this drama every week day at 9.00pm. Just cross your fingers and hope for the best before starting on this drama. Also for the Naagin/ Prema Dadayama fans Arjun Bijlani aka Rithik is in this drama as Ishani’s to be husband Shirkhar in the upcoming episodes. Hello Bae – Wassane Premaya 2016 Review 2

So how are you guys? I know. I know exams are around the corner and here I am writing drama reviews but come on guys I just finished my contract mock exams... They were pretty alright and I really wanted them to finish soon. Anyhow some very awesome stuff is happening in Wassane Premaya (WP) with mysteries being revealed and things given up. So shall we get to the fun parts now? Okay...So let’s start to put down what happened all these days on my first post in the month of April. Guys this is just a reminder but my blog has just passed 90000+ views and I like to thank my growing fan base for that – yep that is you guysJ.

New character in as Sonali's love interest - Sanka..was in Kolamba Ahasa drama on Rupavahini

So this month and the latter part of March brought in some major changes in WP and finally our Aditya – Astha (A&A) couple are in love. Shalinya turned out to be Shoba’s younger sister and she had come to fetch Aditya to see his dying first love. Shoba turns out to be Saranga’s wife in real life. As Shoba she did look very sick and much wounded and I felt sorry for her. It turns out it was Malini who pushed Shoba out of the D mansion while Aditya was not at home. She faked a whole scenario of Aditya having another woman to marry and that he is cheating on Shoba. Yes, this is the same trick she tried on Astha too. Aditya hears this gets all angry (as usual). Seriously this man should go to an anger management centre. I really don’t want him ending up being like Virat Kholi: P. However in this scene I saw Aditya at his weakest especially with Astha being kidnapped by Shalinya. Anyhow I do understand the pain of a man whose true love dies on his very arms. I do feel for this guy; mind you (who the hell is cutting onions here! Nangi get me a box of tissues!)

Astha was very supportive with Aditya crying in anguish over Shoba’s dead body. I just love the fact that she is not at all jealous of Aditya meeting his true love. I also love the fact that Aditya keeps on touching Astha’s hand and looking at her while Shoba is about to die. The fact that Viraj turns up to support Aditya in the last moment shows a sweet family connection. This entire hullabaloo just puts Shalinya out of the picture even though she claimed to have fallen in love with Aditya.

Now after about 200+ episodes finally we are getting a new couple and this is Sonali and Sanka (they are so cute togetherJ ). This happens with Sonali running away from Akila again and this time for good.

She runs away hoping to commit suicide but as Akila’s minions closed up on her she had no choice but to hold the hand of a stranger and run away (literallyJ). This stranger keeps on saying “Sonali... I am Sanka...Sanka from MIBT...remember?” Sonali of course cannot remember him (hey how could you forget such a cute face?L). However when she puts out her plan to commit suicide this cute guy says no to it. Being a very adorable and cute bae he takes her to his boarding house with says “no girls allowed”. He even ended up getting caught to the minions and getting tortured till he finally said that Sonali is at the D mansion. Surprisingly this Sanka turns out to be a relative of Astha’s and when he hid Sonali at his aunt’s place (which happened to be Astha’s place) the aunt/ Astha’s mom puts out a question paper for Sonali to fill (lol). Love is in the air guys and I think it’s going to work out.

If you are wondering what happened to Akila, well he is behind bars for killing Sandra his former girlfriend. In the same episode there was also this cute scene where Aditya has fallen asleep on Astha’s lap and Malini as usual barges in to the room. However this time instead of screaming her head off Malini gives a happy smile and leaves the room (I loved her thenJ).

Now let’s get down to the BIG STORY:

The end of this couple - Malini moves out of the house...

Astha sees Shakya beating Malini with a cane (on the same day as the above mentioned cute scene). Astha is shell shocked and Malini is screaming out for help and without even giving a second thought Astha calls Aditya to see the scenario. Aditya being a Bravo Hero runs over and takes his mother into his arms and tells his father to stop his rubbish. Shakya tries to cover up the situation but Malini shouts out that it was Shakya who told her to send Shoba away and that all her actions were done at the orders of Shakya. She straight forwardly accuses him of poisoning the minds of her children against her. Shakya comes forward to hit her but Aditya shields his mother only to have Shakya raising his hand to hit Aditya. Aditya screams at his father and takes his mother’s side (for the first time) and this time Shakya only has accuses to throw at Aditya and being as cheap as he is, he tells Aditya that everything Aditya calls his is all Shakya’s. In this situation Pramitha and Viraj come out of their room but they don’t know what happened and they just think Shakya is angry about something Aditya did.

Aditya gets really pissed off at his father, his Hero saying that even the clothes he wears are not actually his really ticks Aditya off. He tells Astha not even to drink a drop of water from the D mansion. Malini comes in and says don’t say such things and that Shakya said all those shitty things only because he was angry (oh really?). Aditya gets even more pissed and he asks Astha to give him her necklace (the one her mother gave her- so not Shakya’s money) and with it he leaves the house. Sometime later he comes back with a saree and tells his mother to wear it. He has brought other stuff too and that’s for him I believe. Astha of course never used Shakya’s money so I believe all her stuff is what she brought with her. In the end they all come out of the D mansion to start a new life. Aditya gives Astha a heart warming hug and Shakya screams out who don’t want to stay at his place need not stay.

Left with no one at the end of the day - he was the silent killer..

To make things worse Viraj and Asha say their good bye and decide to stop their relationship. They have this last lunch thing at a restaurant with Pramitha sitting right in front of them. Mind you I forgot to mention that Pramitha knows all about their relationship now.
