Drama Queen

Hello guys! I am back and 100% stressed with mocks a week away and finals just a month away. However as I love you guys and my dear blog a lot I thought of putting up this post on the latest drama on Sirasa Tv. Yes of course the ever draggy, actress changing and too much drama Sujatha just ended. Of course I do miss Shakya Thenuwara; he was everyone’s bae after allJ . I really missed Nehara and I so wish she was there till the end of the dramaJ. Personally hated the new actress as she was like a robot and she just couldn’t act. Moreover even though Sujatha and Shakya had a happy ending there were a lot of loose ends.  Anyhow as that bad experience ended on a happy note, now let’s look at the new drama.

 The latest drama if from Susila Productions and it does look promising (fingers crossedJ ). It has some very nice scenes and the possible lovers look cute. I mean I am not going to keep too much hope on this drama but it did show promise.

The drama itself started off on a strange note that sounds so like Sujatha. So it seems the new character is also an orphan and the beginning starts with her saying that she has no one in this world. Surprisingly she too is a journalist I believe. I have to say the girl is very pretty and looks like an Indian actress. Kind of grew to love her in the few scenes I saw her in. It will of course take some time for me to assess whether she is a good actress or not.

The story itself revolves around a Sinhalese family (typical/ traditional – not being racist hereJ ) who are not quite within the definition of “f-a-m-i-l-y”. They are quite broken with the dad living with the son and the mother living in the main house with the daughters. The first scene starts off with a huge fight over property and who owns what ( typical Sri Lankan style). Let’s look at who is who in the family now:

Father: He lives in the younger son’s house with the younger son and his “accented Sinhalese” speaking wife. She does not quite treat the daddy right and the son doesn’t give a shit. He hasn’t still divided all the property among his children and this causes problems to his dear wife.

Mother: She lives in the main house aka Maha Gedara with her two daughters. She goes through a lot throughout her life due to these daughters including the family being dishonoured. Both the daughters have bad mouths and they are quite known to fight and shout at the top of their voices. Poor mommy dear ends up cally daddy dearest to help out the “property issues”.

Son – Younger

He is a politician and nothing much was shown about him today and I have a feeling he is evil. He also has a wife who speaks accented Sinhalese and she looks like a number 1 trouble maker.

Daughter –1

The older sis is a woman who ran away with her boyfriend causing dishonour to the family. Show knows how to work around her mother and pretty much hates her sister. She and her husband made false deeds to sell off part of the land concerned (88 perches). The husband- looks like a freebie and a worthless fellow who is not worth giving a second look at. After running away with the daughter now he is asking for a dowry and so another evi character hereJ. Son-  Cute fellow who I have seen somewhere else. H is obviously a good match for the lead girl. They seem to match too. Let’s see what exactly will happen.

Daughter 2-

She is a loud mouth, boisterous woman, not married but yet very picky about whom to marry. She is full time fighting with her sister on who owns which property. Not quite the sister you want to end up with as far as I am concerned. However I have a feeling she might turn out to be playing a good character. The character is played by Damitha aka the person who dubbed Lady Mishil in Janahithakami Rajiniya.

Elder Son-

Yet an unknown mysterious character of whom we know nothing about other than that he is dead and has left a beautiful daughter behind. This daughter is the main character of this drama and is a pretty young woman who looks a bit Indian. She comes to her father’s home probably from some foreign country.

Anyhow I have to say that the first impression of the drama was very good and I would goes as far as to recommend this drama but I would not be responsible for any bloopers. I mean you really cannot trust Sirasa Tv dramas and told that much to you guys about Sujatha too. So let’s see where all this goes but guys WP is getting really awesome and I hope you guys are watching itJ .

OMG!!! Long time no seeJ. How are you guys? Doing fine na? I am doing fine...I am finding my way around my studies and life is cool. So a lot has happened during my “working holiday” in Wassane Premaya. Some really cute stuff is happening in the show now. There are some new characters coming in and life on the show seems complex.. So shall we get to the review?

So yesterday Aditya was so sweet with Astha getting sick and all. Anee I want a bae like him...Dear future Husband (Meghan Trainor fan over hereJ) learn from Aditya. I loved the way he stayed up for her and then lifted her up to bed (I am in lover’s heaven over hereJ ). I loved it when Shalinya came in to see our lovers fast asleep in each other’s arms (melting over here).

Ok so are you guys are all mixed up about who Shalinya is? Let’s get it straight...she is a BITCH!! She reminds me of the back stabbing, annoying and bitchy people I found myself with at college. She is right over there playing the two faced villain. She has come to Wassane Premaya to separate Astha and Aditya and I really don’t like her (obviously na). She takes Aditya coffee and all as if she is his wife (Bitch please!!!).  She fakes that Astha says bad stuff about Aditya and even goes to tell it to Aditya. She had even taken pics with Aditya (while he is sleeping) and tries to fake that they are sharing a special relationship (you know what I mean by “special” na?)

It is quite sweet when Aditya finds himself entwined with Astha and his face when he remembered the way it all happened. Omg Aditya you are one sweet baby and you truly deserve Astha’s love. It’s even sweeter that Astha knows that Aditya is not bad as he seemsJ . (sweet).....

Anyhow Viraj, Asha and Pramitha are also having one rough patch. Pramitha is having all these ideas that Viraj is cheating on her (if I was her I would have got it faster than that). So she is using all these clever wordings to show that she knows that Viraj is having an extra marital affair. The sad thing is Viraj is trying so hard to get his family back and push Astha away when Pramitha (yesterday) got to know who his mistress is. The sweet thing though is that Viraj’s little girl really loves Asha and wants to go have art classes at her place. Poor.. Poor Pramitha! I really feel for her because knowing your husband is having an extra marital affair is painful. I am sure Pramitha knowing the woman he is having the affair with is even more painful. Omg is this marriage ending up in divorce?  (Hey Viraj call me if you want a divorce lawyer ok? I could give some advice as a LLB studentJ )

Akila and Sonali are also expecting a baby. If the baby is a girl then she will be aborted but if it’s a boy then he will be the next heir to the Danthanarayana Empire (According to Akila this is). Somehow the D family does not know that Sonali is pregnant (yeah like seriously! Sonali was consuming a hell of a lot of pickles right in front of Malini!) .

Astha’s dad was going to file action against his suspension from work however in the last moment he decides it better to let things be as they are. He decides that since Mr D took in Astha the suspension is just a small price to pay. I think this is something very nice of him to do as another man in his position wouldn’t have taken the same decision. However I just really don’t like Astha’s mom. She just reminds me of a bitch at my college (sorry for my language hereJ). Her “I know everything”, “I take the right decisions” or “I am the super mom” attitude just doesn’t work with me. She takes very bad decisions and I just “dislike “her for that”.

Akila’s overall plan is to make his “sonny boy” the heir to the “D throne” because he just knows there is no “special” relationship between Astha and Aditya. Anyhow I have to say that according to what I see Shalinya is a relative of Shoba and she has come to take revenge from D family. So her main aim is to divide Aditya and Astha. Secondly Shoba is going to return to the show and Astha is going to sacrifice her love for Aditya and send him back to his first love.  On the other hand Aditya will slowly realize that he is really in love with Astha and not with Shoba. So with that happy note we shall part and meet again in another blog post (hopefully before my final exams in May) J J J J J J .
